I am getting on in age so I have mulled over that same question many times. Especially when I see old folks crossing the road being helped by their kids and grand kids. Especially after they suffered a stroke.

Sure you can argue that there are old folks home etc. But when u shit all over yourself, at best the caretaker will hose u down from a distance. Some will just let you wallow in your shit for hours until the stench becomes unbearable. It's different when you have a loved one taking care of u. Just thinking out loud.

For every caring kid, there are 9 who will dump you in an old folk's home without hesitation.

Having kids is no insurance that they're going to take care of you.

It's far better to save the money you would have spent and hire a private nurse.

she flying in alone? can speak english or not? if not will get struck at immigration when ask the sop questions.

In Singapore, everyone need to go out and work to earn money. Is a money world, dun expect your child will take care of you or at your side 24hrs everyday in the house. They also need some breathing space and rest. For the filial one, will hire private nurse to take care of you if affordable or else u will end up in nursing or old folk home as they are subsidies by government. One must take good care of his health whether he is married or single as humans are heartless & selfish creatures the most. Nobody u can rely on, can rely only on yourself.

Last I saw, boss is in Australia, living in a 2 acre lifestyle block (hobby farm).
