A S'porean man has a girlfren. They r both not married together. If she accuses him of fathering her baby, no court in S'pore can force him to go for a DNA test. Is this correct?

1st, most men will submit to DNA testing, if not to prove the baby is not theirs, at least to confirm either way. If they resist, the implication is tat he is guilty...and yes, the court can order the man to have a DNA test.

Sounds weird t father go court, refuse to do dna test & start raising circumstantial evidence how he can't b the father like he got vasectomy, hes overseas when t child is conceived etc n the judge LAN LAN. When a simple dna will show conclusively whether he's t dad.

Empathise your friend's situation but there are many & often worse cases. She has to live with her decision when she became a mistress & subsequently bearing the son. She's now going to be 30 so I hope she has been working hard to make ends meet instead of dreaming of a miracle.

It'll be too costly for her to send the son to Singapore for education especially in her current situation. #1 Where is the boy going to stay? Who's the guardian? There are too many uncertainties for a young boy so best for them to stick together and ringgit is almost three times weaker than S$.

As others have mentioned, the #1 priority is sorting out with the father first before taking the legal route which will set her back over Rm10K to begin with and potentially running into tens of thousands with several court hearings stretching a year or more. Can she afford the time & money?

If I were her, I would just forget about it & work hard to bring up the son single-handedly. Send the boy to a local govt school as Malaysia is quite affordable. I suppose the family name is under hers? Her last option is to marry a man who can accept her condition & hope for the best.
