Will be goin for a blood test again in sept. The doc said that a blood test in Sept will confirm if I have herpes.

It's irritating to hav an OB on gential when HSV1 occur usually on the lips. gential OB is weird.

OIOIO, yours is HSV1 or 2? how often does you hav you OB? how long u got it?

75% of the population will test positive for HSV1 so I wouldn't bother about that result anyway.

If your girlfriend is already positive for HSV1, chances of her getting an outbreak on her genitals are remote as she already has the antibodies to deal with the infection.

My doc say that most of the time the number will goes up. It does not usually come down. So I guess next time i go for the test I shld be HSV1 positive ba.
My doc oso say its ok if don come back for the blood test again as HSV1 is too common and it does not cause much harm.

But knowing that I got it is like hell. y cant i be like the high % of ppl that don hav obvious symptom. Although everyone is saying it's common, but its very hard to get pass ourselves.

How do people get genital herpes?

For any bros/sis who have doubts about your herpes antibody blood tests and want to be certain, if you visit australia you can ask for a herpes PCR test, which is supposed to be the most accurate test as they test the DNA, according to what I've read online. A few months ago I had some itch near my groin area so I ordered a full STD test in Australia including a herpes PCR. That test also included an urethal swab which meant the doctor inserted a probe right into my didi to gather cells, which was damn painful. My friend also went for the same test. He was supposedly positive for HSV-1 after a blood test in singapore but was shown to be negative after the PCR test. Hmmm.

Unfortunately I don't think they have commercial PCR testing in singapore cos it's expensive. Not sure if Malaysia have it either.

I know you folks are having a hard time to accept that you have Herpes and to adjust your lifestyle. I too have OB once a while...in the 1st few years..I have like close to 6 OB..severe and mild....now I only get like once or no OB at all...condition will improve overtime..honestly...Herpes is still one of the milder STDs to get except it's incurable. Herpes is too common. Just treat it as chicken pox at the wrong areas... However...always be honest..if you are into a relationship. The chances of infecting your partner is high because transmission is skin to skin. Areas not covered by the condom is considered exposed. Be honest to your partner..let your partner makes that decision whether they want to continue this relationship. They have their rights and so do you. If they don't, well at least you know that person doesn't love you enough to spend the rest of life together with you.

No for herpes... I did my last last friday.. it requires min 2 weeks to know and test.

according to the dsc doctor, they need to force the virus (which they took some tissue to test) to be herpes.. if the testing is negative u r heng... if not, live with it ..

I believe I affected with it even though weeks later to know my result.... right now, I really have to uphold my promise, stay single forever...
