Nothing to do so surfing around a bit and first time entering this thread so naturally must say hello to all brothers in Hanoi.

Must say I never thought about exploring Hanoi or HCM but after reading the last 15 pages or so, thanks to the seniors like deptrai4u, hurricane88, naemlo, etc (sorry I may not know who's who here) and all the FRs from many bros, I think I will do a trip in the near future and I'd be honoured to meet you all.

Meanwhile, I'd really appreciate if anyone can point out where to head for a good proper (no hanky panky) massage near Intercontinental hotel? And if that exist, what would be a reasonable price? Going there with spouse for the first time (future trips will be alone liao , so must create positive impression).

Sorry for such a newbie question (meanwhile I will read further back to find info too)

Hanoi: Many bars, karaoke parlors become discos

VietNamNet Bridge – Hanoi has licensed only two night clubs, but many bars and karaoke parlors operate like discotheques.

The Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s chief of Culture Management Division Vu Thuy Anh said that many karaoke parlors, bars and event restaurants were detected to work like night clubs.

She said that hundreds of karaoke parlors are illegal, with over 50 in Cau Giay district, nearly 60 in Ung Hoa district, 40 in Dan Phuong district, etc. Notably, many illegal karaoke bars have operated near the headquarters of the local authorities, state agencies and schools for years.

An official from the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the department licensed only two discotheques in the city, including the Hanoi Daewoo Hotel and the Hanoi Hotel, but dozens of bars and karaoke parlors operate like discos.

The official said that these places are favorite destinations of drug traders and drug users. Some serious criminal cases occurred there.

To prevent social evils at these places, the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has asked districts to check and close illegal karaoke bars and punish bars and karaoke parlors that operate as discos illegally.

hi, just back from hanoi yestersday for a 2days business trip.
my friend and i went to the club in Hanoi hotel, about 200gals there.

we pick up each one gal, charges by club VN704k each,
LT USD$150.. ( is that the rate?)

i love the seafood in Vn, hope to go again as we have become the agents representative from one of the largest manufacturer there..

Have recently been staying at Fortuna Hotel, good hotel, but looking for a change (and the ban on taxis at peak hours is a bit invconvenient).

I think the FL at Sheraton could be interesting but don't want to pay USD 120 per night (for the hotel I mean). So any nearby hotels recommended at around USD 50 or 60 per night? Or alternatively any other hotels with FL action?

Tomorrow will fly to HCMC and after business done there onto Hanoi

On only my second trip to Hanoi and thought I would offer newbie report. Based on it's nightclub and GF status, I am staying in the Hanoi Hotel. My only complaint is that the hotel is damn cold and I packed in a rush in Singapore and didn't bring any warm clothing. Big mistake! Anyway, the only other slight downside of the hotel on a business trip is that it has raised eyebrows with contacts here. Not so much because they suspect my motives (they think I am a 'nice guy') but that is not a standard business hotel for overseas travelers. Anyway, I blame it on my assistant - saying she is not too bright.

Last night went to the nightclub. Not particularly warm welcome, not counting the temperature (the other customers had their coats on). Sat at the bar and after a few minutes was offered some company by the mamasan. Was only offered a choice of three girls all in red. Felt a bit short changed when I'd seen about 20 taken in and out of a KTV room. Anyway, chose the best of the bunch, who was borderline SYT/MILF. She was quite sweet, and she did her best to communicate, despite my lack of Vietnamese and her own limited English. GFE was good and wanting the relative warmth of my room, I asked to take her out LT (USD150), I paid circa USD30 for her company at the bar VND150k I think for the drink and a tip for the mamasan, which the girl encouraged at USD 20. May have been chopped on that. Back in the room a cold wind then blew over my new found relationship. What had been like an exciting first date downstairs seemed to have turned into a stale marriage of 10 years plus. It was pretty clear that she wanted to get through the whole experience with the minimum of physical contact. Anyway won't bore you with the details, just enough to say that an uninterrupted nights sleep would have been more satisfying and much better value for money.

I've had a slightly better day today and the night is not over yet, so I will provide an update on the rest of my trip soon.

Just to complete the story:

Time, weather and lack of local knowledge meant I didn't try to have fun outside the hotel (Hanoi Hotel). However, I still had the option of the hotel 'Sauna & Massage'. This was set up like Hong Kong style sauna.

Massage rate was USD37 for 45 mins and, I think 50 for 90 mins. I only had an hour before my colleague picked me up for dinner so took the quick option. Although the common areas (showers, bath, changing room) have seen better days, the massage rooms were very nice, worthy of the price. I was allocated a Milf called Hang (can't remember her number) short nice body and great boobs (D cup).

Note: all the massage girls wear red! So I'm guessing the three I was offered in the nightclub were some sort of utility girl, who can play in both positions. Or they are 'room service' massage girls. Not sure if this was an option but was hinted at.

Good massage from Hang. Great GFE. Only issue was I found it difficult to completelyy give myself up to the experience with only a 45 minute slot and I didn't just want a clean massage. Anyway, with 10 minutes to go, the GQ was asked. Good HJ, roaming up top allowed. Tipped 400k.

RTF: no doubt. In fact I tried to see her again after I came back from dinner. She'd finished her shift so took another girl for 45. Not as good and she stareyed negotiating on the tip, while attending to 2i/c. So I paid 100k more for a worse outcome. Shouldn't have fallen for it.

Anyway on this trip thought I got better value for money from the sauna, rather than nightclub. My guess is that the nightclub is better in a group, not flying solo.
