Re: Shenzhen Info Needed

This is not fair! I just got to SZ for the week and now they start to take away all the fun!

I'll be in HK Fri-Sun, are there any places to check out here in SZ or should I just spend my time in HK looking for fun?

Because it's dummy proof this route is always very packed.

Cheapest way to/fro HKIA to Shenzhen is to take [Bus E34 (HK$13.90) -> Bus B1 (HK$12.70) Yuen Long -> Lok Ma Chau Railway Station Bus Terminal].
Journey time about 1.5hrs in total and less claustrophobic.

Shekou there is a metro station called Shekou station just within walking distance only (about 3-5mins walk). I ask those tour agency inside Shekou ferry terminal how to get to Luo Hu and they say hire their transport which cut throat. When decline, ask them got public transport, none of them were so helpful to help. In the end, walk out with the intention of hiring a taxi. But just walked out only saw the train station. Wahahaaha.

Just walk straight out and the bus terminal there lah. Take K113 out to either Walmart or Haiya, then take a normal cab. The bus travels along the main road of 南海大道。Actually there is a cab stand at the ferry station just that there may have a queue... But quite fast lah.

Don't take from the ferry touts... The prices are real rip-offs. Otherwise, get a driver contact from kakis and arrange a pickup.

Ferry schedule
http://www.cksp.com.hk/eng/skypier/timetable/main.html

Please buy your tix in advance as you do not want to go there on the actual day and find out the tix are sold out. There are ticket offices around town. You can also get them from selected hotels... A few that I can remember are Holiday Inn, Kempinski, Nanhai Hotel. Also remember to turn in your tix for a tax refund once you arrive in HK.

You can also get to Hk by bus via Shenzhen bay, huanggang, Luohu. It depends where you are staying in SZ.

For ferry tix from hkia to shekou, just get it at the transfer desk. No issues on that one. Land in hkia, go to the transfer desk and book the next available tix, then make your way over to the ferry terminal. From the desk to the ferry terminal will take less than 15 mins.

From shekou to hkia, it's preferable u book in advance. 2hrs before your flight is more than sufficient but the guys at the counter will probably force you to get a 3 hrs buffer. The ferry journey itself is about 30mins but there are delays sometime. For jetstar, sq and cx, u can check in your luggage at the ferry terminal and it gets transferred to your flight. Pls note that if your flight back is via Tiger airways, you are not allowed to take the direct ferry to hkia. Going via Shenzhen bay would be best for tiger flights.

No diff on 1st class tix and the others. Hardly worth it. Think u get the upper deck on some ferries.

Would like to check if Shenzhen is impacted by the raid which is ongoing at Guangzhou area.
