Re: NEW ANGELES CITY (Pampanga, Balibago, Subic and anywhere else in PI)

the recent emailer from AA seem to be stirring all out minds here.

"Dear Guest,

We regret to inform you that your Philippines’ AirAsia flight has been rescheduled due to operational considerations. Your new flight schedule will be sent to you as soon as possible.

We apologize for any inconvenience that we may have caused.

Yours sincerely,
Philippines’ AirAsia"

based on my findings on the AA website, it seems they havent updated their schedule roster (schedule PDF).

Re: NEW ANGELES CITY (Pampanga, Balibago, Subic and anywhere else in PI)

was there for a quick splash and dash... lol. sorry to miss u again Bro Z, looks like my next trip gonna miss u again in Sept.

summary: met for a short drink with sifu datou, no runners in my group, from Ponytails, Dollhouse, CP.

this trip really out of balance in terms of timing, did not even get time to bar-hop and visited pagor for juz a short while.

now with the news of AA reducing flights, my love for AC is diminishing...(NOT!)

Not to worry.... DMIA will still be operating.
Perhaps I can shed some light on the airlines rescheduling plans.

In 2010, Terminal 1 of NAIA started upgrading works and some airlines were "forced" to schedule their flights to DMIA due to the overcrowded flights at NAIA.
The upgrading works has been completed and the handover is supposed to be on 1st June 2013. Therefore, with the completion of Terminal 1 upgrading, some of the airlines which were using DMIA have sought to return to NAIA.

FYI, Tiger Airways still fly to the PI after 15th July but will land at NAIA instead of DMIA...... Air Asia rescheduled some of its DMIA flights to NAIA as the bulk of their travellers preferred going to Manila than Clark.

Another reason is the abolishment of the 2 tier fees for landing rights at DMIA.
All airlines including both budget carriers and international carriers will have to pay the same fees...... no more discount for budget carriers.

Hope this can help to clear some of the confusion.

Re: NEW ANGELES CITY (Pampanga, Balibago, Subic and anywhere else in PI)

more researched "speculations" :-

Recently ZestAir bought into AirAsia Philippines, so there may be a juggling of schedules...let's hope some flights on PQ remains...if you go to Zest Air website, and try Clark to KL route, you will b redirected to AA malaysia Website.

anyway, will hv to consider alternatives in future, meaning KUL-MNL-KUL. But tat will take at least 6 to 6.5 hrs away from precious cheonging time...

2 hrs NAIA to AC, 2.5 hours AC-NAIA, 2 hours airport check in

Thanks for the updates.
Flying into Manila will mean about an extra 3+ hr in travel to AC but still worth it for the cheapo bonks. As long as the bars remain open I will be back

I think my last trip was one of only a few in recent yrs that I had no runners- even though I didnt really do the detail question/answer session as I now dont always use because never a sure thing alway. Instead rely on instinct and got no runners.
Only used DIA/Tagged once and out of 10+ that said will meet "blah blah BS"- only one showed and first few words out of her mouth was "jollibee and buy me gifts" She was kinda cute but immediately knew she only wanted sugardaddy complex. Knew it will cost me dearly in the end for a bonk so bought her lunch as promise and sent her away for some cheaper and sure things at the bars instead.

I guess it maybe banned in PH
It's definitely not banned as it's available here, ard 800 - 900p.

As bro Mayor alluded to, it's all fiction.

A lot of fuss especially from tourism and local authorities, but talking to some locals, they will tell you that some of the stuff that is written about manila is true. If anything, they find it amusing.

It is dirty, polluted and some places are hotbeds of seediness. Of course, everyone knows that already.

Maybe my last few trip no runner, cause I know them from street or Dia or tagged, so they won't run and stay with me, but this time I pick in bar that's why got runner.

Re: NEW ANGELES CITY (Pampanga, Balibago, Subic and anywhere else in PI)

I also received AirAsia notifications informing of flight reschedules. Wonder there will be refunds on the days we booked but flights unavailable?

Oh ya, about Zest Air, now operates from KL to Manila, I want to share my unhappiness of taking Zest Air recently.

I took Zest Air flying KL to Manila. Schedule says 10.55 am depart from KL and arrive Manila 2.35 pm. Funny thing this Zest Air flight arrive to NAIA Terminal 4, the oldish Domestic Terminal.

Well, in the end I arrived around close to 4 pm. I noticed the aircraft hover around and around before touch down.

Then after aircraft enter the parking bay, there was annoucement by cabin crew that the immigration area was super crowded and everyone was held up and not allowed to exit from the plane.

So got out after quite some time and drop off to immigration by bus, there was another long round of waiting. We were made to queue in a disorientated way to accomodate for the small space. And no wonder the queue, so many people, only 2 immigration counters there, and also no segregate local and foreigner counters. Great!!!

Cleared immigration and custom without any hassles and fast hand fast leg get out of this "kawawa" (poor) airport...finally!!!! is already 5.45 pm

Oh more goodness....it was rush hour time in Manila....very very heavy traffic all around....in the end took me 3 hours to get to my destination. Really wasted a lot of time.....already close to 8.30 pm that time.

For the return trip, managed to get to NAIA Terminal 4, although got traffic at some parts of Manila in the early morning.

Check in, was ok, manual checkin.

Then here what I was even suprise is after clear immigration and to enter boarding area, travellers bag are checked manually. No scanner here, only 2 officers to open and go through whatever things in our bag. Even small bags also they wanna checked.

Luckily, no prohibited items like porno contents, haha

Flight to KL was ok, no hovering around, straight touch down and ahead 10 minutes.

Well, sorry if this posting has no cheonging info and long winded.

But after this experiece, very very likely I WILL NOT going to take Zest Air ever again.

Thank you.
