I suggest that we meet at the same place again next month on Friday 20 January 2006, i.e. at Restoran Khye Cheang @ Stulang Laut ......... No point changing the venue every month

JOHOR BAHRU A 'SAFE CITY', SAYS JOHOR CID BOSS

JOHOR BARU: Crime cases involving Singaporeans are few and the city remains a safe place for tourists and visitors, said Johor CID chief Senior Asst Comm II Datuk Abdul Rahim Jaafar.

“I cannot deny that there are cases, including those involving Singaporeans, but Johor Baru is still one of the safest cities in Malaysia.

“Many Singaporeans continue to come over for shopping and golfing, especially during the weekends,” SAC II Abdul Rahim told The Star.

He was commenting on a report in The Straits Times about Singaporean Rosdee Ismail who needed 20 stitches on his head after a robbery attempt near a petrol station in Jalan Wong Ah Fook on Dec 11.

Rosdee was sent to the Hospital Sultanah Aminah here by his brother, 33-year-old security officer Azman.

The Straits Times also reported that on the same day that Rosdee was attacked, a Singaporean couple nearly fell victim to a snatch thief at another petrol station in Jalan Sentosa.

It said a 58-year-old technician was dragged 20m by the thief who tried to snatch the wife’s handbag from a motorcycle.

SAC II Abdul Rahim said Singaporeans should not feel “targeted” as crime could happen to anyone, including locals and other foreigners.

“We also have cases which involved other nationalities, but these are all isolated cases.

“Rest assured that we (the police) will ensure that the city is a safe place for both the locals and foreigners,” he said.

JOHOR BARU, Sun.

Sex aids such as dildos and aphrodisiac potions are being sold openly in an outlet in popular shopping complex in Jalan Dato Sulaman here.
The shop, bearing a signboard reading " Kedai Barang Mainan " (toy shop), sells various sex toys for men and women.

Also available is a variety of cream, pills and potions, some of them used to spike drinks to make women receptive to sex.

One popular potion called " Spanish Fly ", with a lurid label, is sold at RM50 for a 5ml bottle.

The shopowner, who only wanted to be known as Teh, said the potion was an aphrodisiac.

He explained how men slipped two drops of the "Spanish Fly" into drinks to lure women into following them home.

He also had a pill, called " Gekco ", priced at RM50 each, only for men.

The shops also carries items for lesbians and gay men.

The shop, which has been in operation for two years, has a steady clientele, including Singaporeans, he said.

Teh said youngsters were among his biggest customers. "I have students asking for fancy condoms and Spanish Fly," he said.
