Have not seen the article on the matter but how this couple communicate might be a major factor in this case. Imagine after your honeymoon period, all your partner talks about is getting her pr, plans on what she wanna do in Singapore, What biz to do lar blah blah and worst still bring who here lar after giving birth.

I tell you when you hear all these, it'll scare the shit out of you more than the though of going for circumcision

Hmm care to share what this law consist of? So bros here can learn to take care of themselves

Given a choice, I would still prefer to marry our local SG girls if we can find good ones rather than PRC women. But sometimes life & fate very difficult to predict ones. One fat SG guy that I ever mentioned before spent a fortune chasing pretty PRC KTV girls to become his life partners until now he is still poor with one fat ugly SG woman as his gf. I remember he alway said that SG women is no good & fark-up but now he have an ugly fat SG gf. Before that all his PRC KTV gfs cheated his money until he went broke then kicked him out

One fat ugly Sg gal....buahahahaha... The way you put it in the context and repeating it damn farni!! Haha

Guys are so-lidat... But must still salute your fat friend for trying la. At least he live his life with no regrets. Imho, better than those who never act but follow the crowd and live a life as directed by the 'norms'. I'm not saying we can ignore learning from mistakes of others, but as long as we educate ourselves from other's experiences and make our own judgement - live and let's live, once

As compared to Taiwanese (ROC) people, the PRC people is very practical to extent that when we are no longer co-operation of work.. bo kam cheng liao.

The Taiwanese valued freindship more than PRC even when we are no longer in co-operation. We keep in contact for many years despite not frequently meeting up each other.
i can't say anything about the friendship part especially about PRC and ROC. but it sound very singaporean too what you say about PRC

most of the PRC friends i know is very family oriented compare to singaporean family that i know. but they seem to have an issue on marriage especially those well to do ones. most of them is either divorced or having affair. somehow they have the concept that singaporean man is more faithful then their country man. true or not i have no idea. but i do see and hear alot of such cases among friends.

once i have a PRC friend telling me that if they don't have a "gf" outside, it embrassing. he asked me what is our situation back home. i told him we like to drink milk but not bringing the cow home

Ya his fat ugly SG gf don't mind he is poor and also willingly to hard work for a future together.

My batch of friends that cheonging KTV actively 3 years ago all quitted entertainment circles. Now we live on one philosophy that is regardless of age as long as we have a good income & healthy, we will have the chances to meet good women. No point spending good hours & money inside KTV looking for love or true relationships there.

I can understand this if the marriage works, but just have a look to the objective evidence http://www.divorcerate.org/

thanks for proving my point. so we can agree on marriage is not the problem but divorce? you do realise no part of the marriage vow involve in billing out when there is trouble right? i have no doubt marriage is a good protocol for bringing up a child although never a prefect one.

when a car had an accident do we blame the car or the driver? of course assuming it not a Toyota with brake or airbag issues

marriage and divorce are the 2 faces of the same coin, there are thousand of actions that you can do to avoid a car accident, but you can't do anyting to avoid the failure of a marriage, statistical data are showing this. A contract between a man and a woman for the life, this is bizarre.

i agree when there is a commitment, there will be risk. but you are looking at the smaller percentage of divorce while ignoring the bigger percentage of success as the link you have kindly posted. thankfully i myself are at the smaller pencentage age group yeah. old man here. maybe there is a reason on why as the age group move up, the percentage of divorce get smaller. just like motorcycle accident age group chart that i was shown during my lesson at SSDC

that are alot you can do to maintain a marriage. marriage take a lot of work you know. saying there is nothing you can do to reduce failure can't be more further from the truth.

a bit of confusion that i need your help to clarify. accident rate also do have statistic data right? how come you are not using it the same way as you use it against marriage?

look at the bright side. treat marriage cert like a house deed you feel better

I really admire you (really, believe me), when you consider a success all of the marriages that do not come out on a divorce.
I still really think that marriage produce just more unhappy people; the majority of the couples stay together because they think that they would have more difficult to stay alone or just because the child; this is frustrating. Marriage is an obsolete tool for managing the relations in a couple, I think we can do better than this
