Actually Financial Fair Play has been scrapped since March this year. FFP works on the concept you should be spending within your means. The expenses should be sustainable via your income. As Covid hits, income drops due to no stadium crowd, lower broadcast revenue etc. However, clubs are still bounded by the long term contracts they sign with players. So if your income drops a lot and your expenses are fixed, financially you will surely suffer. Under the FFP, actually many clubs cannot buy any players this transfer window. So clubs react to this financial mess by selling their top earners or by raising the most revenue through selling their star players. https://www.skysports.com/football/n...ing-considered UEFA says the new version of FFP will come out later this year or next year. So rich clubs splurge now in this transfer window that is between the scrapping of the old FFP and the introduction of the new FFP. Barcelona is no longer a rich club. It is heavily in debt and therefore cannot afford to extend Messi's contract. They should have sold Messi last year for a world record fee instead of letting him leave on a free transfer. Barca's debt is reportedly more than $1 Billion Euros. Can you imagine how much Messi's transfer fee will be if they had sold him last season?

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
A very composed n prolific performance last night. Kudos to Tsimikas who did pretty good except couple of lapses in concentration. His crosses n positioning were good n with more playing time he'll give Robbo good competition for the LB spot. Matip n Keita hopefully these 2 stays fit, they played well last night. Lastly nothing beats having Vvd back in the team n Salah, Firmino, Jota finding their scoring touch.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Good round up bro!
Tsimikas, think this poor chap ran out of gas during the latter part of the match hence the mistakes and ticking off from Milner and VVD Given time Tsimikas should be more well tuned and still has shown himself to be quite an adequate replacement for Robertson. Add ons to your comments. Alisson showed just how important he is to us to be able to pull off great saves whenever called upon. Trent played a really good game. Old man Milner was solid and dependable as ever. Sadio was silky smooth, just a pity he did not get a goal. Fabinho made a big difference when he came on in the second half. Lovely to see Virgil back after so long. A bit rusty but all he needs is more game time to get back to his world class level. The only average player yesterday was Ox. Tbf to Ox though think the role of playing both defensive and attacking midfielder is not an easy one for him. Ox's pace is one of his qualities and he was not able to utilise this often yesterday. Hopefully things improve for him as the season progresses. Must say the depth of our squad looks pretty impressive since we are still without Henderson, Thiago, Robertson and Curtis. Still stand by my recent post above where i said i am cautiously optimistic that we can make a serious challenge for the PL. The only fears now are another major injury crisis and the impact of AFCON. If we are still looking in this transfer market, i hope we try and get a quality forward(who is not AFCON bound) at least. Losing 2 world class forwards over AFCON is going to be painful as it is. Our midfield still appears to be able hold up. Finally must salute our Egyptian king. Fantastic game from Mo Salah. Long may his reign at Liverpool continue Oh yeah, not sure about you guys but i am still not use to seeing Klopp without his trademark specs Believe and enjoy the journey! Quote:

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Not so likely. I just read an article that says he has a knee injury that requires surgery.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Maybe he is worried he will break his glasses again. Remember Klopp's first season in the EPL? We won 5-4 at Norwich. The players crowded around Klopp and Benteke broke his specs.
