I called and check jurong point, 2.485. It hit 2.550x today.
Takes almost 2.55% margin, which is 255bips.

And when they take in RM, it's close to 2.60, my goodness......sounds like robbery?

Last nite manage to get 2.51 at JB after the custom shell .

my mistake,

the difference between 2.5500 and 2.4850 is 650bips.

Assuming transaction is 1M/day, it works out to rm65000 profit/day. And that's only 1 branch of moneychanger.


650bips is 6.5cents. cents is big deal when volume is hugh.


So the next time Public Transport Council, PTC raise fares by 1 - 3cents. multiply that by 2m rides/day, it is an increase of up to S$60000/day. In a year, the increase is almost S$22M. Do not look down on the petty 1 - 3 cents increase. it is big business.

Kranji MRT: SGD100 = RM248
