[Starter]

I Woke up the next morning and I left Christina a voicemail that I was asleep when she paged me, during class I was thinking about the matter, I did an estimate on how long Christina would take to reach home as compared tot he time she paged me, lots of questions filled my mind. Why was Alan chasing after her, What else followed? did they hug? did they kissed? were they already together? or maybe they already had sex but I did not know.

Nothing but negative thoughts flooded my mind, and by the end of the day I knew that I have lost all faith in our relationship.

After School, I went to J8 and met up with the girl Felicia came first followed by Jasmine and Ann.

I went and whispered "voicemail" to Jasmine ear, I was teasing her as expected she rolled her eyes and gave me a irritated look. Felicia asked what I told Jasmine and I just indicate to her that I was just disturbing her.

Moments later, Penny appeared with Sonia and another girl, Sonia was walking behind them and appeared to be worried.

Penny: This is my sister, Cindy

Cindy was not friendly, she looked ard and starred at Felicia before giving off a smirk.

Cindy: Penny and Sonia has joined me, since Christina is not here to look after you anymore, I came to ask if you girls want to join my gang too.

Felicia: Eh Christina only not with us a while only, somemore who are you?

Penny whispered something in to Cindy's ears and she laughed.

Cindy: Oh... you are Felicia huh, you don't know me never mind..... But you know my god brother Or Pah? (nothing Korean here, Hokkien for black panther)

I could see Felicia's eyes widen when that name was mentioned.

Felicia: I am not interested.

Cindy turn the focus to Jasmine and Ann,

Cindy: You two leh, Join me lah.

Jasmine and Ann tried to walk off and Cindy stopped them?

Cindy: wah so don't give face ah, Just walk away like that.

Jasmine: Sorry but we don't know you.

Piak!, Cindy slapped Jasmine on the face.

I ran up and pulled Jasmine and Ann behind me.

Me: Eh they say not interested already, what you want?

Cindy: Eh this is Zharbor Dai chi, (girls Issue) Tah por Mai chap. (Guys don't get involved). Why I hit her you heart pain huh? your siao eh (GF) is it?

Me: Yah lor, This 3 all my Siao eh, (GF) their issue is mine.

Cindy: You very cocky hor, you got balls you wait.

Me: Wait Wait lor, you think I scared you arh.

I pulled Felicia and we walked off as we walked around J8 we came to realised that Penny and Sonia has been following us.

Feeling something was not right, I asked the girls to go back. I was right, Their target was me.

Penny followed me for another 15mins and I was stopped by 6 guys with Cindy. They told me that we needed to talk about something and I was "escorted" to the Stairway in J8. when approaching the stairway, I was pushed into it and before I can react, punches and kicks rained on me. I swung my arms in all directions but it was futile. It ended after I lay on the floor helpless and Cindy came kicking me a few time.

Cindy: KNN Kah lim bu Guai Lan, (how dare you be cocky with me)

Cindy and her gang walked off indicating they will whack me everytime they saw me. Yes that was the first time, (Lim bei tio bao) I was whacked by a few guys. I told myself I needed to protect the girls, but can I?

I pick myself up and walked home, there was some noticeable bruises which I took a look at after I reached home. I took a look in the mirror and luckily there was no bruises on my face which will alert my parents.

Felicia and Sonia paged me a couple of times but I left them each a voicemail stating I was fine. I was getting worried about Sonia, why did she join them?

[Starter]

Minutes later there was someone knocking on my door, I went forth to see and it was Felicia, I opened the door and let her in.

Felicia: Idiot you ok bo, I heard you tio bao ah.(got whacked)

Me: how you know?

Felicia: Sonia voicemail me lor.

Me: Sonia?

Felicia: Yah lor, She was crying. She say if she know like that she will stop penny from coming. Aiyah she say only lah, as if she can stop Penny and Cindy.

Me: But I worried for Sonia, she got tell you why she join them bo?

Felicia: That Penny lor, Knn threaten Sonia to join her or else they will find her trouble in school.

Me: Sonia can tell Christina mah.

Felicia: She did, Christina ask her to siam (avoid) them, but same school lor how long can Sonia siam (avoid)

Me: Like that I also don't know, Ah boy's side also only help if Christina say.

Felicia: Maybe hor we all split up now is the best lor, but only Sonia is the problem lor.

Me: yah I also don't want Sonia to follow that Cindy.

Felicia: I call Christina tonight see what she say.

Me: If I got gang behind me then I can help Sonia, now I got whacked by Cindy's gang also cannot do anything.

Felicia: eh you dun siao (crazy), don't tell me you want to join gang because of this.

Me: Say only mah, but if not then how let them whack meh.

Felicia: don't say that, You pain of not?

Me: no lah ok one.

Felicia: Take of ur shirt la, I see

I took off my shirt as Felicia Examined my bruise and she press on one of them.

Me: Eh pain one leh

Felicia: you say no pain what.

At that moment my pager beeped, I checked my voicemail and it was Christina.

Me: Die Liao.

Felicia: why?

Me: Sonia tell Christina I tio bao now Christina coming to bishan

I left Christina a voicemail asking her to come to my place, I deliberately indicated that Felicia was here and I gave her my address on the voicemail.

20 minutes later Christina arrived, she was still in her working uniform and it was obvious she had cried. I could see that her eyes were red and puffy, but I did not ask her much as Felicia was around.

Christina: What happen why Lawrence tio bao? (Got Whacked)

Christina asked if I was ok , I showed her some bruises and she was concerned, but at that moment I really did not know what to trust as I have the impression that she was 2 timing me.

Me: How you know I tio bao?

Christina: Sonia paged me many times when I was working, when I heard the voicemail I told my manager I had to go he allowed.

Christina: Then why you Tio bao?

Felicia: That Penny lor, Bring what Cindy one come ask us join their gang. we don't want she slapped Jasmine lor.

Christina: then how come Lawrence tio dai chi?(got involved)

Felicia: He hero mah, say we 3 all his siao eh (Gf)

Me: Ah bo, then let that cindy slap u all meh.

Christina shot a look at me.

Christina: Who is this Cindy?

Felicia became soft, and she mumbled her words.

Felicia: She is Orh Pah's (Black Panther's) God Sister.

The same look which Felicia shown when confronted by Cindy now shows on Christina.

Me: Who is this Orh Pah?

Christina: My Ex...

Felicia: Eh Christina, Can ask Ah Boy help or not, Just to protect Sonia and get her away from Cindy.

Christina: I cannot.

Felicia: Why?

Christina: Ah boy have hinted me a few times that what he has done for us is more that what a God brother should be doing. If I ask him for help again, I don't know what he will ask for to settle this.

Felicia: What more a guy will want, Hor idiot.

Christina shot a look at Felicia and I placed my head down not commenting on the question.

Christina: I will think of something, just let me settle this.

In my mind, I could not understand Christina's statement, first I am her bf and there is Alan. What can she do about this other then going into Ah boy's arms in a bid to save Sonia?

I was helpless, I told myself if she were to do that then it was over for us, but without doubt I still hold that love for her and was in pain.

I told the girls that my parents will be back anytime soon and they left together.

I went back to my room and took a look at my pager and realised during my discussion with Christina and Felicia, Jasmine paged me numerous times, my pager was filled with her number and It kept coming.

I checked my voicemail and Jasmine a few messages asking me to call back. but there was one that I would highlight

Jasmine crying: Are you (sniffing) ok? Please call us, please...

Wait did I heard something wrong was that Jasmine or could I have mistaken Ann for her? I replayed the Message and I was sure it was Jasmine's voice.

[Starter]

I called Jasmine on the phone, (If you are guessing, Sonia virtually paged everyone we knew telling them I was Whacked). I would say that Jasmine seem terrified, Both Jasmine and Ann wanted to meet me despite me telling them that I was at home and I was alright. I figured that Sonia must have told them I was beaten up badly given that Cindy would most likely told her that I laid on the floor motionless as she kicked me.

They were persistent on meeting me, and I told them I was tired. Jasmine insisted that I met them on the next day, they told me to rest at home and they will come visit me. With all these happening, I was not in the mood to go for classes. I agreed to meet them the next day at my home. I gave Jasmine my address and they hung up asking me to rest.

I did not rest, I paged Christina telling her not to find Ah boy and I would find a way out of this.

She did not call me but left me a message indicating she knows what she is doing and promised me she will not look for Ah boy.

I was still thinking about how to resolve this matter and I contacted Bobby, After telling him the details, he told me that he can't help unless I was part of them. He told me to consider joining him as he has something big coming, What he requires was not kids that fight in the streets, He needs someone to take care of things in a bigger basis.

I was puzzled why me? what did he see in me? but I was considering joining him as a option as I started to feel that I needed that protection.
