Your friend will be in BIG trouble if the police finds out how he gets the person's details just via the Bank Account Number. It is confidential info which cannot be divulged except to the police. Eg. This means that your friend is probably working in the bank or the police... either way, it means that he has abused his work position for personal gain.

If you use your friend to help, never bring this case to the police... otherwise don't go to your friend, just the police direct.
