Uber/Grab drivers shd be penalised for being late

Don't think Uber/Grab drivers will be assigned a new pick-up when they still have passengers in the car so it is apparent that TS is just trolling…

In all fairness, I can understand the need for a small penalty on the part of the passenger for being late because:

1) Some people just cannot be on-time. They either cannot help it because they are lousy at estimating time or they simply don't care.

2) Time is literally money for these drivers. If they have to wait 5 - 10 minutes for every trip they make, they would have to spend an hour waiting in an average work day.

3) Even if they are ok with the waiting, it is impossible to wait in some places so what are they supposed to do? Drive round and round?

For these companies to introduce such a penalty probably means the issue is big enough to warrant some action. It is quite sad that people here have to be forced to be on time when it should be something that is basic human courtesy.

They will be assigned a new pick up if their dropoff is near to the new pick up.

If that's the case then does the arrival time displayed in the app take into account the time the current trip ends and the time it takes the driver to get to the new pick up location?

Meaning if the driver is 2 minutes from finishing his current trip and will then take 5 minutes to reach the new pick up location, the app shows that the driver will arrive in 7 minutes?

everyone is made known..

Like someone said above, cant wait, cancel. If can wait, you can be sure that the driver is rushing his arse to you (shown on the app too)
