Thanks bro. I was actually in SK last nite ... real smoky place.. probably fellow brothers smoking to their hearts' content before 1st Jul but thought the crowd's pretty good. Not many Viets but had quite good time with a couple of PRC SYTs. But i think the gals there are more for takeaway ... butterfly interval's really long after knowing that I can't da bao ..

Will definitely try again next week ... this time round with my da bao equipment all ready ..

Just an update to fellow bros... had dim sum at gl 'wen to siek' last thurs before my buddy asked if we want to check out the scene at JC too.. never been there but tot why not... drove down there ard 10.10pm... Blue lagoon is a small little pub, just imagine a 3rm HDB flat from entrance to the kitchen area with all its walls torned down. Once you enter the pub, you can see 2 rows of around 4 high table with high chairs on each side. Further in, to the size of a bedroom, would be a pool table. After the pool tables would lay another 5 tables.

Walking further in, just beside the pool table, on the right would another 3 rows of 5 - 6 tables each, at the furtherest end would lay a short bar counter, capable of sitting perhaps only 2 persons for the other portion of the counter would be used by the waitresses for their duties.

The place is dimly lit, with around 3 overhead TV screens playing all night long EPL commentaries with volume turned down. Behind the bar counter would be a large projection screen. The light system is design to give it a discotheque ambience - shooting beams, revolving mirror balls, etc.

The music in this pub is mainly top 40s pulsating english and cantopop. Sound system is not bad, considering this is a small pub, thus one can feel the reverberations of the beats as well as the crystal clarity of a high note played. Conversations can barely be heard though, as the music is pretty loud.

The people there would be mainly heartlander singaporean types - casual wear, some even in bermudas and slippers - very relax and not pretentious. Mostly minding their own business enjoying Tiger beers and the occasional bottles of liqours. Most of the time it is males and once in a while perhaps a local girlfriend or fellow cheongster sis?

The girls are all Viets, i would rate about only 60% are pretty. Most of them are fair and petite, between ages of 20 to 35. They are very polite, would greet you and ask you for permission to join you. They would smile and go away if you reject their advances. Should she join you, she would have no inhibitions to your advances and would stay for a while between 15mins to half an hour before butterflying to another customer at another pub nearby. She does not order drinks nor request you to do so for her. Another half an hour and she would return to perform the same routine. Not much into hanky panky stuff or as wild as Paramount.

The min.tips rate is $20 for around 3 hours of her time, but if you are into wild raba raba, probably she will excuse herself after 20mins and ask for tips. By 11 or 11.30pm, most of them will ask for tips as they will head over to Looker's bar at Geylang. Only a few will remain till closing time around 12.45am.

Gripes:-

1. The music gets kinda stale if you are a regular - its the same songs played over and over again every night even though they have a DJ there.

2. The waitresses keep an eagle eye over your drinks, will rush to fill your mugs full even after just one sip, can be annoying as if rushing you to finish up your beer and get out.

3. The dour looking manager, Vxxxxxx, is actually a nice guy once you get to know him and understand the operation there. Its only a small pub but there are many people who would want to go in. Thus if a guy just order a mug or jug, occupies a table the whole night to finish his drink, he would have to turn away another patron or patrons. But he is reasonable, wont be chasing you off with the expectation that you must finish your mug or jug in half an hour. ( I've seen some cheapo who orders a jug during happy hours at 5pm and stayed till closing time. A few more like him and Blue lagoon will join the blue yonder soon.)

4. Pretty and regular Viet girls tend to stick to their regular customers, which is not a bad thing actually - it frees other newer girls to stick to newer bros which wont butterfly as much as the regular viet girls.


Thumbs up:-

1. Small little cosy peaceful pub. Everybody minds their own biz. Can go there as lone ranger like me to chill out.

2. Unpretentious unlike upper market pubs where one have to look and act cool. Good place to go when need not bring clients along for classy entertainment.

3. Plenty of sweet Viet girls to choose. Don't have to face 'Dao' local SPGs, conniving PRC, LD crazy Thais, or wilder outta shape Pinoys.

Of course, the reigning supreme pub in JC is still 51 Jazzy, with all stars in all depts. But Blue Lagoon is still a good laid back choice. Pity though, the authorities always raid JC area when heartlanders are there only to relax and chill out.

I am in no way related to the operators of the pub nor paid in any form for this objective FR on Blue Lagoon. I only write it cos i didnt seem to find any FR on this place and thought it might help bros looking for a place to chill out, as i had frequented this place before a few times over a period of a month before moving on to somewhere else over the years. Of course, i am sure regulars of the pub would write a better FR than me on this place.

I went BL yesterday. Quite a number of people there….with combination customers and gals.….still a good place for a drink and girls for you to talk & “hold”…..dun expect much action….
