When you save on hotel, u would find yourself with extra $150 or so to spend on buying things.
So how long are you gonna stay there? 4 nights? An additional $25 bucks per night is just about $100, why torture yourself and your girl when you are there? No one asking you for Hyatt or Amari Hotel now. For me I rather throw in a little more and get a good night sleep with fresh sheets and breakfast.
So does $62 a night with standing shower and bath tub, big double bed, clean room with breakfast and 10-15mins drive to MBK entice you?

This hotel not too bad...more than the bed and bathroom you asked for definately but a little far from the shopping areas you wanted. The other time I booked from VC travel in HLP railway station was charged B$1800 per night....not much value for money as the hotel has seen better days.....only remembered the porter/bellboy wore something like a no.1 uniform and will salute you before carry your bags (remembered giving a B$100 tip... i'm a sucker for such things )

Aarrr.... Basically I think Mandarin Hotel provides fresh sheets and breakfast too. Why spend the extra $25 to have a nicely decor room? Not like we are spending most of our time in the room, just want to rest during the night and move out again once dawn break. Of course for sex too. ^_^

My hotel room is a deluxe one, better than their standard room I think, with bathtub shower, king size bed and 10mins walk to Patpong. I prefer Patpong cos it's like a night market and all the good food and pubs/clubs are there too. By the way, is it safe to take cab during late night? I've been there once only and i stayed at Montien, so very convenient, dont need to take cab in the night.

Wow, B$1800 is really quite expensive! Next time book online, my company's driver in Bangkok said that it's cheaper to book hotel from internet now. You mentioned a little far from shopping areas, which shopping areas are you referring to? I know Mandarin hotel is near to Patpong. Any good recommendation for shopping for my missus beside MBK?

Re: Recommendation for BKK hotel...

if your missus like branded stuff and u dun mind paying, you can bring her to Central. Lots of brand names there.

anyway, just saw your thread today and personally, i ever stayed in Novotel @ Siam Square which is a reasonably priced hotel with very well furnished rooms (just renovated recently).

You might wanna try that one next time. Hope the info helps.

I've stayed there a few times if u purchase a hotel voucher it will be slightly cheaper ie. 1000thb, it is quite big and has an old charm to it, rated at 3 stars. They are also quite tight on security if you have a female companion they must register at the hotel, and if there are more than 1 female staying with you they ask you to pay extra.

Re: Recommendation for BKK hotel...

if u can't get 2 bedrooms just book 2 adjoining rooms, it is the same thing, just open the adjoining room doors and voila! u have 2 rooms side by side.

Re: Recommendation for BKK hotel...

There is a brand new hotel just behind Asia Hotel, i think its call Diamond City or something like that. very convenient, BTR station just in front of Asia Hotel. can walk to MBK also. I was brought to a restaurant by my client the last time i was there..... can't remember the location but i have the card somewhere, will look for it and ppost the address. this restaurant is call NO HANDS restaurant. the waitresses all nude, you just seat there and they do everything for you. you don't even have to move your hand to touch them, they purposely rub their titties on you when they are serving you. you can dig gold also, but digging while having a meal, not very nice. i didn't do much as with client, a bit pai sei. so i take card, will definitely cheong the next time i'm there. I just book ticket for march..... this time i'm definitely using hands liao.... not for eating though.

The next time you go to " No Hands Restaurant " besides using your hands ( NOT for eating though ), you also use your mouth & tongue - also not for

Cool Daimond City Hotel Vs Asia Hotel, Bangkok

Sorry, I am not able to compare Diamond City Hotel against Asia Hotel because I had not stayed in Diamond City Hotel before and am not even aware of it's existence.

I had stayed in Asia Hotel many times and I find it okay. The buffet breakfast and the buffet dinner is very good. Furthermore it is connected to the BTS sky-train at the 1st Floor. However the sky-train service stops at 12.00 midnight. So if you are going out you have to take a taxi back to the hotel after 12.00 midnight.

I prefer to stay at a hotel along Sukhumvit Road because it is very convenient to go to Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy and to all the other shopping centres by the sky-train.
