This is wrong. Her lawyer will get her to say she only had an affair because you neglected her in the first place. It's your actions which led her to find other men. Then how? Divorce in Singapore isn't fault-based. The court doesn't try to determine whose fault it is that caused the marriage to fail. If she is a tai-tai and you have been funding her lavish lifestyle, she may cheat on you but that doesn't mean she isn't entitled to a monthly alimony from you.

How many guys here have wives who cheat on you, divorces you and then gain custody of your kids? You have to pay alimony plus child maintenance even though the reason behind the marriage's breakdown is her affair. Anyone in this situation or knows of anyone in this situation?

Finding out the truth is good, but what are you going to do next is very important.

First of all, you will be trashing out with her and possibly going the divorcing way.

I went thru these, thou my case is not about 3rd party involvement between us, more of a sexless marriage that leads to lots of complications.

When a men was caught for affairs, case is pretty simple for divorce, but if its the women that was caught for affairs, normal law applies for the divorcing proceedings, but woman charter law states that so long she remain single after the divorce, the ex-hubby goto pay alimony till one fine day she found a guy whom she remarries, then the alimony stops from there on.

Do you want to pay while she goes around trying out new guys, and you indirectly subsidise her sexventures after the divorce?

I gave up divorcing after talking to my lawyer, now i go my own way to find happiness, but my case and yours may differ, coz i don't want to leave my children to her. Also stated in WC law, so long as the mother got a proper job and income, 99% of the time the judge will award the custody of the children to the mother, even thou she has a boyfriend outside.

That's why i recokon if i were to go all the way, i will still get my divorce, but there is no way i can beat the WC law, somehow i will still be the BIG loser.

You are a wise man. A lot of other guys will act on emotions and end up suffering more. To rub even more salt into the wound, the monthly alimony might not just end up subsidising her outside activities, your monthly alimony might also be used to subsidise the activities of the other guy!

My opinion is since the husband is already suspecting, I think it is good for the husband to find out more rather than keep thinking about it everyday and nite. Not only it will affect his daily life, but will also affect his work too.

Whatever he does or wants, he must get the evidence before he confront the wife... else it will be much harder to get evidence when the wife decides to stop the affair first and file for divorce.
