Actually, flying to Khon Kaen airport is not such a good idea unless you are flying there from someplace else than Bangkok (unlikely) or you are trying to get frequent flyer miles . Korat is right in the middle between Bangkok and Khon Kaen via the North-South Highway. I took me around slightly less than 3 hours from Korat to Khon Kaen and 3.5 hours (traffic getting out of Bangkok) from Bangkok to Korat.

Take the bus or rent a car from BKK. Hope you enjoy Isaan - good luck.

Yup, Bro u are correct! Thailand has 76 provinces and Khorat actually has a lot to offer as I used to stay here for months before as I was part of the RSAF contingent based in the military airforce base in the city.

For brudders who would like to cheong in khorat, there are a lot of massage parlours and ktv around. Prices are variable as it depends on the season cos every year there will be military exercise in khorat(AKA Exercise Cope Tiger) which the americans, british and aussies plus s'poreans will be holed in khorat for months. So in order to satify the sexual needs of thousands of mens the owners of the joints will start to import girls from all around Thailand just to satify the huge demand.

Prices ranges from 1000baht to 3500baht depending on the joint and quality of the FLs. For budget goers, you can try place like OSAKA, PLAZA which they are the lower tier of FLs which normally the locals will go for. Frankly speaking Bro Peter North,

You can find a "wife-material one" girl anywhere in Thailand, it all depends whether are you lucky a not to meet someone who are really serious about you. I was with him to choose his bride, it's a long process. First you have to know the contact from the village and he will source out the candidates from the respective families that are interested. After that you go and view your prospective wife 1 by 1 and after you had decided then comes the family head which usually is the father who will discuss about the monetary package. To my surprise, there are a lot of families waiting to sell their love ones due to the recent crisis in harvest and to be able to secure a one time payment of $$$ plus a further life time instalment support to the family sounds like a good deal to them.

After 2 days of viewing, my friend had decided on a girl who with thai and burmese mixed parentage. She was a fair looking young lady with big eyes plus her figure was quite in shape except of her legs due to farming activities
The only thing now in barrier was communication with her as my dear friend can't speak thai very well and I had to translate every now and then. But nothing is impossible as when my friend saw her, his eyes almost popped out cos she had the kind of girl next door look which will make young boys stand anytime!
