woo ok all the gamblers bros here so i shall relate a bit of my casino adventures here too! hahaha I am not a professional gambler but i like the thrill of playing and my normal games are texas hold'em (all guts and glory... or lose your trousers) and blackjack!

Blackjack

I started playing (and losing) consistently which led me to study the statistics of the game. In macau where I normally play, blackjack is played on a 6 deck card distributor with regular resets. This make card counting very much impossible and only those movies like 21 will show people being able to do that!

For me each hand has a statistical probability of winning or losing so i bet when the odds are slightly in my favor and reduce bets when the inverse is true. So i track various patterns and cards on the table. So for example if the number of 5's and 6's is sighted 2x more than A's, then my statistical probability of winning increases exponentially depending on your initial 2 card vs the dealer's. So it's kinda simple strategy and I have been able to win more times than i ever lost in casinos! hhehehehehhe

Texas Hold'em is my favourite, although at nights very heartbreaking! hahaha I guess I have too much balls as my friends like to say. Sometimes all in is no fun at all

But all in all i just like casinos for the ambience, free drinks and the occasional luck!

Haha bro you made it to this thread liao. This is for all the gamers aka 赌鬼.

Also can check out the cabaret shows and listen to live bands while you gamble. The atmosphere of the casino is intentionally designed to make you feel comfortable so that you'll stay in there to gamble as long as possible.

I heard that texas hold'em is now slowly being introduced in the Macau casinos. I think the popularity of texas hold'em is increasing quite dramatically in Asia where traditionally, alot of gamblers prefer to play games of luck over games of skill. the younger generation is catching onto hold'em poker due to all the TV tournaments like World Poker Tour etc.

Personally i have played texas hold'em in a 'poker club' in London but not in a casino. These clubs are more of a social gathering of poker enthusiasts and not technically a casino. I get the impression from my experience that the players do not want to be seen as 'gamblers' but they are aspiring to be 'skilled professionals'. Money is secondary to them, and they are in it to hone their skills in bluffing and strategy. Because this is so, these clubs give the feeling like its a community club. haha.

I have never played texas hold'em in a casino setting, but would definitely like to try for the experience. Bro, can provide some info on the rules and min/max antes etc at the Wynn casino in Macau?

I only tried playing at Wynn once, lose due to my amateur skills. Haha.
min buy in is 500hkd, max is 3000hkd. Diff tables got diff antes, the least is 10hkd/25hkd i think. A lot of those players down there are seasoned players, in my opinion, its very ez to cheat n cooperate in the setting.
rules wise, i think its the same as anywhere. and its no limits.

I am not a big gambler myself, but still remember the days of casinos in Batam and Jakarta. Just go in and have a little fun, and you never know you going to meet.

There are a few back before the crackdown, in 2004? Cant remember liao.

Goodway hotel, the gambling tables are about 4 of them, and they pay your ticket to and back. Free meals too. Bacarat and roulette. 21 Points too.

I have friends who are season gamblers and they come over for fun.

Usually, he has a rule of his own.

If he wins, he leave the game after XXX amount won. Never stay on when he "felt" he won enough.

If he loses a XXX amount, he stops, for the day, and comae back another day.

Some stragegy he taught me, and although I did win a few hands before, using the stragegy, I lose out in the end. Breaking even. However, it is for fun that I play, not a hobby. Going casino is to meet potential friends and get to know more contacts.

The strategy taught to me like this,

Observe the game of roulette first. Dont go and bet immediately. In a round( define by the person who spin the ball), there is a tendancy for the ball to fall into a certain "sector" more often than other. "Sector" is defined by 9 numbers. If you disect the 36 number( excluding the 0) you can put it into 4 sectors. Watch carefully.

The trick is to play that sector all the time. I tried it a few times and it work. Chances are better. For it pays 35 to 1 for every time you win.

However, there are exceptions the person spining may sudden switch "sectors" halfway. Only the experts and observant ones will notice it and change the "Sector" playing.

I know one professional player who does that. He won more than he loses. Of cos there are times when he lose alot too, and he stop when he loses. A true gambler.

Of cos, there come the gals, or rollers as we called them. These ladies are pretty and earns a commisson from each time they change money. I dont dare to say she did not sleep with big time clients. on a good nite, they can change up to 100k, and with commissions they earn, they sure have a good income.

There was an incident when the person spinning was caught stealing chips, passing on to exchange for money. her photos were paste all the place, with accomplice. rewards are offered for her whereabouts. really dono what will happen to her if she was caught. Gang raped? Sold to prositute house?

So far no news about it.

Back to gals, yes, there are FLs there too, hunting for customers. So there fore, I wonder will we see more FLs in Marina Sands? lottering around? What is the govenment going to do about it?

if i'm not wrong only in Macau Sands for the game Barcarat, they allow u to change or take yr bet back if the game open tie..last time i went golden dragon there bet the game open tie i'm not allowed to remove my bet or change to player/banker..that means die die the money u bet will stay on tie..quite ridiculous right..genting or cruises all allow us to remove or change leh..

Wynn's poker room is often full so be there early if you don't want a long wait. If so, Starworld, which is just next to Wynn has its own poker room as well. If not, cross the street to Grand Lisboa where the softest (easiest) games are.

Stakes that are spread at all times are 10/20 and 25/50 (HKD).

Theres only 1 casino here in Sydney (Star City) Have been there a few times. Gaming wise, the usual games options are available and I did see people playing Texas Holdem. Got interested in the game after watching James Bond play but have never tried it in Star City. Girls wise, did not see any FLs hanging around unlike Genting. Some of the PRC dealers are pretty sweet and cute though and there are a fair numbers of cute PRC/HK students around. But there will always be guys hanging around them.

slot machines I like to whack them at genting. Usually at the wee hours like 3am to 5am. Then I can whack 3 machines side by side. Just jam a card on the spin button, bet 3-5 lines and hope to strike the mini jackpot.

Usually will get about 20-30% profit if I hit more than 1 jackpot.

The govt will 'encourage' more FL to be there. True facts! This way will get more people going there, collect entrance fee, increase revenue from the gaming, etc. More over times are getting tough, need more people to go to casino..... this is one 'agreement' for the casino..

U will not se casinos chasing FLs out, unless they cheat.... they work hand in hand.... you scratch my back, I scratch your's.....

SG is about the only Asian country with 'legalised' GL, think about it, so easy meh... sure have catch somewhere..... hmmmmmm

Hmmm... I still wonder about the entrance fee. 100 dollars as said right? I wonder given the poor economic atmosphere, will they still implement the 100 dollar charge to "discourage" people?

Back to FLs. Yes, I have heard about woman who cannot pay their debts becoming FLs for the casinos. Some of them had to "bring" in others to cover their debts. It means the gambler takes in their friends to gamble.

I wonder how much more bad karma PAP is making in process...

It is very easy for the casino to bypass this $100 rule. Just give out "promotional" chip or dinning voucher of $100 to those paying $100 entrance.
