Cause i have a limit of 500 sms a month and i have encounter cust who actually sms me saying that they just wanna be friend with me and chat over sms. I just wanna avoid this kind of situation.

And i still feel that by not giving out my number to anyone lightly is right.
I do receive pm or email whereby ppl simply just leave me a mes "Can i have your number?" or worst some use it an email heading. Sorry but personally i think it's pretty rude. I will share my number provided you give me yours or at least let me know who i am giving out my number to.
