So Jason eventually got the car, I was surprised the processing of his loan and insurance was so fast. There was another clause to extend my secondment on a rolling monthly basis as long as no suitable replacement was available, and each month would come with a $2000 bonus to be paid on the same terms. Should a replacement be found prior to the end of the month of secondment, the remaining bonus would be pro-rated.

S: Well, it's up to you. But our boss is really happy with what you've done so far.

On hindsight, maybe I should have gone for my second secondment, but I really felt that I didn't really fit into the profile they wanted, despite being able to perform at a reasonable level. Besides, I really didn't need the money.

Fast forward to the end of the next week, Darren and Nat threw another BBQ to mark the start of the school holidays and also to have a gathering with us before they flew to Korea for a holiday with their kids.

Everyone was there, even Crystal appeared, which was strange, considering how she didn't really like Darren or Nat. That also meant that there was no way Jason would be disappearing halfway to have sex with Nat, which would mean that somewhere along the night I might be called into action. I guess Jason was trying to prove to Crystal that besides going out to fuck someone else, he did have a group of seemingly normal friends. But I'm sure she knew the truth somehow.

It was interesting to see Jasmine try to assimilate Crystal into the group, but she mainly kept to herself, talking mostly to EoS and me, and sometimes even Shirlyn.

Surprisingly, nothing happened that night at all despite all of us being in relatively high spirits, after consuming the copious amount of spirits. Except Jason of course, who smartly limited his alcohol intake, having just got back his license and was finally able to drive his own car, and EoS, who really didn't seem to drink at all.

Closer to the end of the night, Kate and Shirlyn decided to crash at Jasmine's place as they both had too much to drink and they went up with her first.

I stayed behind to help Nat clear up the place as Darren brought the kids back up.

Me: Nat, I've got something to ask you.

N: What's up? We're not having sex tonight if that's what you want.

Me: No. It's nothing like that.
