thai baht rate update

BKK rates is about 23.32 on average. However, I drew my from UOB account in BKK, and was actually given a higher rate of 23.41. Had to pay a SGD$5 for admin though.

LPPL...... when your SG statement comes...... they make back the difference in the conversion as they bill you in SGD

More than make back the difference. Changing money costs money (aka margin), more so if withdrawing via another thai local bank ATM -ie cover 2 banks. Also, credit card charges are also never at favourable rates. Price of convenience..

Luckly, change it at 23.52 bahts before it drop to 23.37 bahts (UOB Thai).

Sign up and then u can access their realtime rates. Used them quite a bit and they offer good rates. Noticed they have a new branch at Phrompong/Emporium Bts station.

Not really. The statement from the ATM actually show the exact SGD charged for the withdrawal, as well as your balance remaining in your account in SGD. Everything is clearly shown. So, all the additional cost is only the $5 admin charge. I did call up to check with UOB today, and the customer service verified this.

But one thing though, provided you have a UOB bank account in Sg, and only redraw from UOB Thai. Else, you will be charged for a double transaction between 2 banks, and the situation as mentioned by Bro SOul_Reaper & Bro YinYang will likely to happen.

Dun go to the mama ones....... they see people one...... if can makan u they will offer lower rate. You may want to try the travel agents coz some of them oso do "underground" money changing as sideline ...... definitely will get better rate.
