Re: The New HC Business Proposal
Hi Bro Zack, Bro Kum, Bro Banana & Bro Sputsgetz:
All these business exercise and sparring of the minds, is really very very enlightening. I am sure all of you have made it in some way or another. I do sure like to make it like you guys, one day. In fact, when I saw the thread, it made me sit up and take pointers, scrutinize every word that you guys said. In fact, I am doing a business proposal and this thread came in very timely. From the initial posting til this last one, I can see the wisdom and experience all of you have. Even if the initial business proposal was meant to create a laughter, it was really really very welldone and have quite a bit of substance to it. From that on, I was trying to see how I can do my proposal much more properly with the advice and wisdom, you guys have and said here. So it was a real good learning experience for me. And like Bro Sputsgetz once, I am in some sort of deep shit and am trying to crawl out of it. I feel very encouraged by you guys... So based on all the advices, I am refining my proposal and putting what i can to make it happen and work. That is, walk the walk, talk the talk, and put where the money is! So yes, it will really really be great to meet up and learn from you guys, the tips and tricks of doing business. |

Re: The New HC Business Proposal
hi bro zack and other bros,
chanced upon your thread and have to say wah..you really into it huh..anyway i'd like to share some views..hope it helps. used have some friends running HC in hongkong (we all know they are WAYYYY more advanced than us in this line) and from what i have seen, there is no way you can get the "rich&famous" to patronise the same business as the common "dirty old man". that is, of cos, provided they are not the same person lah! haha also for your min. target of 60% occupancy, its good for bizness but..this also means no privacy for the EPG "Easily Paiseh Guy". i know of some hkg joints who have many entrances and exits with waiting zones (some at car park lots) so chances of being bumped into are really low. anyway there's quite a bit more but i don't wanna rattle on so im just going to check back here soon ok..thanks for your patience and pls don't flame me..only a newbie with some humble overseas suggestions (not kay kiang ok ) cheers! |

Re: The New HC Business Proposal
Hi bros.,
I started this thread after some promptings from fellow bros. and I admit that I was a bit sceptical whether a fairly serious topic can draw like-minded bros. to contribute their views. It was never my intention to mislead anyone but after talking to several people in the trade, it is a more complex business than I first thought. IMHO it can be a lucrative business with the right mix of know how and resources. In current S'pore there is no way of running an entertainment complex model under the same style as said "Poisedon" in LOS without running foul of the law here or given the operating licenses by the local authorithies. Perhaps we should see if the casino project can work in our local environment first and then maybe the authority will be more liberal. The other aspect of owning and operating the HC business which I have problem coping (beside the legal aspect) with is the "moral" issue. I thank all bros. for their valuable contributions and views and to those who pm me wanting to invest in this project. There is about 6000 hits on this topic which mean to a large extent there are several serious like-minded people in SBF. Under this thread I have share a bit of my knowledge on writting a bus. plan but it is no way complete. You need to include the management team and spell out their reponsibilties, a back up plan in case of changing scenario, fundings, future plan, USP (unique selling points) of your services or products, etc. Most of all before you embark on your business, do do a due diligence esp. a market audit for your products or services. Test the validity of your financial statements and be practical about it. I hope these pointers will be of help to fellow budding entrepreneurs and crystallize their thoughts. Cheers, |
