I would be travelling to Bkk next week with my family (8 persons) to Bkk for F&E holiday.

any brother can advise S$=Thai Baht and US$=Thai baht latest rate.
is it better to change here or Bkk ?
Any brother has any idea how much it cost a day to hire a 8 seater van for sight seeing and is it better to go to hotel fm airport by 2 taxis (2 x 4) or take airport coach as hotel is at MBK. I had not been to Bkk for a few years.

Hey man i suggest u printout the hotel add and tel num (cos nt all taxi driver know where u r goin to) and take the public meter taxi.. U can get the public taxi fr the arrival hall exit 10 there is a big counter outside.. I do have a van driver num which i gt his service during my last trip.. U can pm for his hp num..

Hi,
Save yourself the trouble. if the amount is not significance, Change in SG. Just read the past content in this thread will lead you to the reasonable $ changer in SG. I presume the amount you require to change is approximately S$2.5 k.

Yo, rule of thumb is (usually) better change money at home country vs destination. Partly also due to direct change of home currency than vs other foreign currency linkages (like usd) at destination.

And as you said, will not break the bank either. Btw, S$2.5k is like your personal budget for 1 pax... wah, me not got so deep pockets, hehehe

Airport limo or 8 seater (available at counters) is more expensive than metered taxi. Do not fall for the taxi/limo touts (with nice gals) in concourse. If you really need 8 seater, go to counter inside or outside and can negotiate list prices. For standard limo 5 seater, range bht700-900 depending on dstination (can haggle down to bht500/600 to Sukhumvit). Dunno price for van or 8 seater. And with a fail safe hotel destination in MBK, metered taxi shd do. And if the Q is longish (busy period stretch to concourse), just go up to departure floor and jump into metered taxis.

As for sight seeing, this depends on private deals with driver. No experience with this, as Bkk is free & easy.

This morning it was 23.12 bahts but afternoon it drop to 23.07 @ UOB Thai.
