The next morning, I did the usual and went for school, it was a Friday and I met Evon at the bus stop where she walked over and spoke to me.

Evon: I seldom see you recently.

Me: yah, I always sleep late, very tired.

As her bus approached Evon turned to me, this was what she said before boarding her bus.

Evon: Erm.... I hope we can have a chance to be together again.

I looked at her as she waved at me, maybe she was expecting me to reply her in some way, but I did not.

School was usual, and I checked with Glenn on his progress. He did make one improvement, he started talking to Gloria. (I did not call Gloria at all, and I did not know what they talked about) But Glenn told me they spoke for around 30 mins daily, which to me was encouraging. I told him it was time to push Gloria for a answer, on whether she was willing to accept him or not.

That was school for that day and as we were meeting later for the tutoring session, I did not meet the girls for lunch. Instead I went to the bank in Bishan, remember? I was supposed to deposit money. But I ended up withdrawing money instead.(can't remember the amt)

I don't know if any of you have felt this way before, I took the money and wanted to go get the bag for Felicia immediately, it just feel right to do so, and of course I start imagining the look on her face when she receives. I ran toward to MRT station and took a train to Somerset. I left Felicia a voicemail asking her to meet me in an hours time and went to Paragon where I made my purchase, but as I was walking out of Paragon happily with the paper bag in my hand, I saw a person, the very person asking me if we had a chance this morning. Yes, It was Evin and she was with another guy, and he had is hand around her waist.

I did not know why, but I was angry, I avoided them as well. Throughout my journey back the image kept flashing in my mind, I feel cheated... She said she was waiting, she asked me if we had a chance, but now she has another guy's arm around her waist.

The train reached Bishan and I alighted brushing that matter aside as I waited for Felicia's arrival. And smiled thinking about her reaction when she gets the bag. It would be a surprise for her.

Felicia took the bag and she was more astonished rather than excited. Soon she took out the bag, and it was a bright red glossy Chantal Thomass bag. (At this time you should expect Felicia to hug the bag and maybe cry right? No she didn't) she opened up the bag and looked at the interior, and around it making sure it was in pristine condition.

Me: Eh what you doing?

Felicia: check mah, this bag Expensive leh if got scratch must faster take back and change.

Me: You like this one right?

Felicia nodded: Idiot why you go and buy, where you find the money?

Me: I got savings lah. ( yah savings I was not supposed to touch)

Felicia pulled me: we go your home.

Me: eh we need to go to Jasmine's and Ann's place.

Felicia: very fast one 20mins.

I brought Felicia back to my home, and what she wanted to do was to transfer the items in her old bag to this new one. She asked me to keep the old bag along with the paper bag for her, as she did not want to bring it to Jasmine and Ann's place. Oh I remember her scolding me when I almost folded the paperbag, she told me off asking me to keep it straight and flat, not to fold it.

We soon made our way to Jasmine and Ann's home, I could not held on Felicia that day, as she was constantly looking at the reflection on the glass pane of the MRT using it as a mirror.

But when we reached Toa Payoh she asked me a question which really stuck me.

The really tussle in my mind that I did not wish to lie to the Jasmine and Ann, I could have easily asked Felicia to come out with a reason stating her mum won 4D and it would be easy to get pass this.

Me: Just tell them I bought for you Lor.

Me: This was something I promise you, I think They will understand. ( Or at least I thought they would)

Felicia held onto me,as we soon board the bus towards Jasmine and Ann's home.

Throughout the journey Felicia kept asking if I was sure that I wanted to tell the girls that I was the one that bought the bag.

I nodded and told her it will be fine, we arrived and as usual Ann was the one greeting us at the door after we pressed the Door bell. Felicia went in and I follower, it did not take Long before her bag becomes the topic of the day.

Jasmine: Felicia? Do I see a new bag?

Ann: that's the one we saw that day.

Jasmine and Ann asked Felicia if they can take a look, and it wasn't Long for the expected question to be asked.

Ann's reaction was more predictable as she commented the bag really looked nice, but Jasmine's reaction was totally different she became quiet and went into her room. It was clear that she was upset and I decided to talk to her in her room.

Me: Because I bought Felicia a bag?

Jasmine: Ha, I have my own share of bags, Lawrence you belittle me.

Me: if you are not upset then I Guess I worry for nothing.

Not much moves left for L. Buy 2 more bags (unlikely) or don't buy in the first place (also not so good). If bluff say mum win 4D, J&A won't be happy when find out eventually and F wonder why buy for her specially, cannot say out loud and will spoil relationship with J&A. I guess this is the best way to direct head-first assault and say out truth. J&A might get jealous but definitely this deed will win F.

Surprisingly, simple answer like," Because you 3 are equally important to me, I did not know you liked it or else I would have gotten for you too." is the easiest answer and very believable to girls, even the most hardened ones !

PS: My BIL and wife also same situation. He buy her something very nice and very very expensive but in the end quarrel because he folded the paper bag and stuff it into the store-room with the rest of NTUC plastic bag. So instead of gala time, was kaboom time ! Girls (and women) are weird !
