Since i have been seeking advices here, just to update that my wife's PR has been approved. Thanks all for the kind help!

More foreigners ending up in Singapore!

Hopefully the PAP will be voted out in the next election and they will all be sent home.

All immigration and custom worldwide are linked....

example if custom officer scan your passport, they can tell whether you committed any crime or done anything wrong. Including overstaying.

Custom officers are not superman; they will not stop you and interview you just by a look at your face. They rely on their system.

A Vietnam girl I know have been turn back 2 times and have since given up on coming to Singapore.

She told me she did not get caught in hotel; but I rather trust our custom officer than a lying vietnamese girl.

let me share my experience with ICA.

My Thai gf was denied entry last year (end April 13) when she tried to re-enter Singapore from Bali (some call this U-turn). She had already stayed in Singapore for 2 months (Mar and April 13) when she decided to go to Bali for 1 week and re-enter Singapore. Before that, she had also entered Singapore in Jan 13 and stayed in Singapore for 2 months.

Her reason for reentering Singapore from Bali was simple - to spend more time with me as we thought re-entering would give her another 30 days. In short, she is a 'bona fide' tourist and simply wanted to stay longer in Singapore.

To cut the long story short, she was not allowed to enter Singapore. I then wrote in to ICA, to apologise for our oversight, admit liability for trying to exploit the system by U-turning, and asked for clarification as how to move this issue forward. After 3 weeks, ICA wrote back to me simply stating that her next entry will be assessed on its own merits.

The good news is she managed to enter Singapore in Dec 13 and most recently, last week. No additional questions were asked by immigration officers. Having learnt our lesson, she has only stayed 1 week on each occasion.
