Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
tough 4 weeks coming up...with many players injured...think Jan transfer window will be key...
Arsenal yet to play
Man C on 14 Dec (A)
Chelsea on 24 Dec (H)
West Ham 26 Dec (A)
Newcastle 29 Dec (A)
Liverpool yet to play
Tottenham on 16 Dec (A)
Cardiff on 21 Dec (H)

I kinda like the Sakho / Skrtel pairing..... imho a better partnership than Agger / Skrtel

Yes, very worrying indeed. SG n Sturridge unlikely to play any part for the remaining games this year. A win agt Cardiff is widely expected. Call me a pessimist but if we can get at least 3 points fr 3 draws agt Spurs, ManC n Chel I'll be a very contented man! Nvm if we finish 2013 6th or 8th!

Agger has been too prone to injury. I think his body is finished and cannot take the rigours of the BPL anymore. Maybe BR can use him aka Ledley King or Rio Ferdinand...ie. play 1 game and rest for the next 2 games

Tottenham has a European game midweek and their team is outta sorts at the moment so I see Liverpool taking home all 3 points at White Hart Lane.
Another 3 points should come from the Cardiff game as they have been atrocious on their travels.
Man City & Chelsea are a tough call and I would be very happy if we can draw those games.
So 8 out of a possible 12 points would be an excellent finish to 2013.

i do hope Dirk's prediction come true. the thing abt Spurs, they have been very inconsistent this season BUT they do possess a very strong squad, with a good blend of youth and experience. On their day they can definitely beat anyone, and as bro Naemlo suggested they'll field their strongest squad and would raise their game against Pool.
oh btw, our Raheem was quite impressive in the last 2 games agt Norwich and West Ham. hopefully he doesn't get overwhelmed by the Spurs crowd and prove that our own version of Spurs' Aaron Lennon is as good, if not better.

NOW is the time to play Tottenham as even at their strongest turnout are several weaklinks.
Goalkeeper Loris is still suffering the effects of the clash of heads from an earlier game and his form has been erratic.
Striker Soldado has been firing blanks and has suffered a drop in confidence.
The only creative playmaker they have is Eriksen whom is out injured..... the other midfielders they have are DMs and journeymen.
Their 2 speedsters on the wings..... Aaron & Townsend can cause damage while attacking but are slow to track back and tend to neglect their defensive duties thereby leaving gaps for attacking teams to exploit
Suarez and company should be able to win this game even though they are without Gerrard & Sturridge.

Tottenham already qualified for the knock out stage and assured top spot from their group. So I can see them resting all their key players for the weekend PL game.
Despite that, with the in-form Suarez upfront, I am confident we can get something from this match. Suarez will be able to skin Dawson for fun with his pace and skill. Furthermore, their left flank is gone case with both Rose and Vert out with injury, definitely an area we can exploit.
It's time we get a win at the lane, too much heartache there in recent years.

I'm not worry about their toothless striker but if they played their midfield trio of Paulihno, Dembele and Sandro, I will be worried. Their left flank is not worrying but Lennon on the right can be dangerous......whoever BR starts on that flank must work hard to shadow him...

Paulinho, Dembele & Sandro are holding midfielders / destroyers....... if AVB plays all 3 of them then it bodes well for LFC as that means Spurs is taking a defensive strategy..... which I read as they fear the attacking game of LIverpool.
Aaron is not the same player he was a few years ago.... he has slowed down and not as pacy as before.
