Did a google search..... A lot of mystery and speculation exists around the topic of "Side line girls" (dek sideline or เด็กไซด์ไลน์). Most foreigners have never heard of the word, others doubt their existance. Are there any in Chiang Mai? In Thailand? Well, yes! What is a side line girl? Thai use this word to denote girls that are busy doing something else but can use some money on the side, predominantly university students. A full-time prostitute working in a soapy is therefore not considered to be a sideline girl, and neither is the freelancer you find in Spicy. Typically, a sideline girl is someone you call, a prostitute is someone who works in a brothel or on the street. Side line girls can be awfully pretty or just average, just have a look at the average student girl on the street: most of them are cute to pretty. Where can you get side line girls and how much do they cost? Well, unlike her full-time prostitute colleague, side line girls don't work in a (massage) shop or a parlour where you can just pick them from behind a glass. They're in the wild. Getting one requires a hunt, or if you're not skillfull enough, you can use an agent. Thailand being a referral-and-commission economy, there should be no surprise if even this "item" is for sale through an agent. This type of business is, however, even more obscure than the semi-legal take-away brothels that are already less legal than the "official businesses". So often, side line agents move around very carefully and only through referrals. Both blue collar workers (like your plumber) and white collar workers (like your bank manager) may have their number, but if you call, it's much better if you speak Thai because often they don't want trouble. Typical prices for side line girls are from 2,000 baht up: 2,500 or even 4,000 baht for the most pretty ones. How does a side line agent work? Well, you call the number and the agent asks for your 'spec' (specifications). Local Thai usually prefer white skin and big breasts, but foreigners often pay more attention to face, overall body, attitude and detail, so that's something you need to communicate. You set a time and place, and the girl(s) come to see you there. Now the awkward thing is: you won't see any pictures upfront, because this business is illegal. So when the girl shows up, you might like her and you might not. If you're lucky, the agent arranges more than one girl, but most of the time, just one shows up. If you don't like the girl, most agents accept that and you are not obliged to buy, however you will feel awkward to send the girl who just travelled to come to see you back home. Most girls and agents are okay with that, but it's probably better to pay some small money for the effort. If you keep disliking the girls that the agent sends over, of course the agent will loose patience and you'll loose credit so you'd better don't refuse too many girls. The other discomfort is of course that every time you've got to wait for the girl to travel to your destination, so it's by far not as efficient as going to a standard soapy but then, it's far more exciting. Some agents send student girls fresh from class with their black-and-white uniforms still on, when they have a spare few hours in between classes, but only in the afternoon. These student girls don't want to side line in the evening because then they want to hang out with their friends. So you get fresh student girls in the afternoon, and in the evening you get the type of girls you see working in a furniture shop who are only free in the evening for a side line job. An example of self-made agents were the parking guards of a big hotel in the west part of town that houses a soapy in a separate wing. The guards got phone number of all kinds of girls (prostitutes, freelancers, and some side line girls) and would approach you when you're not in a hurry to enter the soapy. Another self-made agent is the bell captain of the Anodard hotel. For years, he's been approaching each and every single male checking in, offering services in your room. However, he's not a side line girl agent, he simply gets prostitutes from a take-away brothel (Rung Fa) and marks the price up to 2,000 baht or so. Good side line agents are the managers of some love hotels, but they are rare, most of them don't offer such service. Probably, there are quite a few side line agents in town, for examples some that work with bank managers and some who are students and work with fellow students. Besides agents, there are some purely Thai website that connect supply and demand of side line girls, even in Chiang Mai. Most Chiang Mai side line girls probably have Thai sugar daddies, either in Chiang Mai or even in Bangkok. Again, you better pay more attention in Thai class before you start entering this arena. If you're just open to meet people and have good pick-up skills, of course you can get your own side line girl. Almost every girl in Chiang Mai goes to university and they are all in need of money

In Thai, the phrase “Dek Sideline” pronounced “Deg Sy-lie” is a young girl (Dek meaning child) in Thai (great for google search) is เด็กไซด์ไลน์, is typically in her last year of high school, university girls, and Thai girls who have recently graduated and are looking for a job or currently in a low paid job working towards a good paying job. This Dek Sideline girl probably doesn’t have enough money to cover the costs of living and school so hence, she needs to do something on the side that covers her costs.

What are the prices for Sideline Girls The prices range from 1000 for a few hours to over 5000 an hour! Seems expensive but remember these girls are only doing it because they need the money urgently! Really it’s not hard, you don’t even need to read thai to find Sideline girls in Thailand. If you go to the websites i’ve listed below then also go to translate.google.com use the translator to first translate the city your in, so if you live in bangkok translate it to กรุงเทพมหานคร but Thai’s typically like to use abbreviations and you’ll end up finding the girl by typing in กทม. For Chiang Mai do a search for เชียงใหม่ the rest is easy the post should have the girls email address or the a phone number, your better off emailing her to get her photo. Just send an email and use the following “ขอรายละเอียดรูป” this basically says please send me details and a photo. If they are still looking you’ll get a reply.

Yesterday Singapore straits times and 晚报 published a full page article about living and retiring in Chiangmai. Quite in detail about the pros and cons, and it seems that there is quite community of Singaporeans residing at CM. Their interview says Singaporeans survived better in CM better than Farangs due to the fact that many are collecting rent for their HDB in SG whereas the Farangs sold everything to retire in CM Only Out No In. Quite a number of Farangs finished their savings and have to turn to their embassy for help to send them back their country and to arrange for care center for them at old age. Quite poor thing also.
