I was in XCD back in 2006 and it was really a laid back place compared to the faster pace of CP. You cannot compare CP to XCD. It is like comparing Apples and Oranges. Bro Kent_do; My friends and I are already sick of CP, that is why we are taking the less commercial places. I was in XCD back in 2006 and it was really a laid back place compared to the faster pace of CP. You cannot compare CP to XCD. It is like comparing Apples and Oranges. Oh thanks for the reminder bro Northeast. will take note of the CNY date. Give a good FR after u cm back especially on the price of everything since now consider peak (havent super peak yet) period. see whether u got any luck with any mm giving u bj.

Arrived and checked in at around 3PM. Had a quick bite at the restaurant beside the Hotel's lobby. Weather is very hot and humid. Really hot. Walked around the beach and went to see other hotels. Was quoted RMB320.00 for weekdays but listen to this, on a Saturday, they are selling their rooms at RMB880.00 per room night. If the hotel is like those 5-Star you find around the bigger cities of China then ok, the Hotel standard is like 3-Star type. On the brighter side, they offer free internet connection.

After walking around the beach, we visited the Chicken Farm and picked 2 chicks. My friend B and I did not pick (yet) and at this moment, the 2 of them are have a ST in their respective rooms. Damages are 200/500 RMB ST/LT. Will update you when available.

Transport: RMB350.00 (Private Car) ZH to Shan Zhui Jetty (1.5 Hours)
Transport: RMB 65.00 (Coach/Buses) ZH to SHan Zhui Jetty (2.5 hours)
Ferry Ticket: RMB47.00 each PAX/Way (Jetty to XCD)
Transport: Hotel Boss picked us up.
Hotel: RMB380.00 per room night

So far, that is all to report.

Dun have hundreds of hotels at XCD lar, have about 70 only. Currently many older hotels doing upgrading works but the price also upgrade after that

During Peak season weekends please book before you go especially if you have a big group if not you will end up sleeping in tents on the beach for RMB100 each

The "realistic" reason is due to Nov-Dec HKG/Macau typhoon season.

If there is typhoon, ferry stops operate -> means visitor(s) have to stay on XCD till typhoon is over.

It can be a short 2days to 5 days delay, of which, visitors travel schedule(*flight/train etc) is screwed.

Bro nowadays the hotel operators luan luan lia liao cause many carrots go there anyhow pay high prices for the hotel and gals.

My Taiwanese and Malaysian friends kao peh kao bu to me " we know your S$ very strong but no need to spoil market mah . . . "

Nov will be a nice time to go as the weather is cooling and not so crowded. Last year Nov hotel rates varies from 100 to 180 rmb for the normal hotel rooms. Try to keep to 1 or 2 hotels and be regulars and your rates will be around there.

But better check the weather forcast before you go. Cause if got typhoon warning better dun go cause their forcast are very accurate. The sea will be very rough even if the boats operate. Kena once , Dame scary man. If anything happen, that's it !
