this indon people, somemore so high ranking officer...really no brain or what....quoting reciprocal treatment....sigh, they want a war or what?
u see, an accounting firm in KL sent 2 staff to sulawesi to perform due dilignece, they enter with tourist visa, of course if the govt people there wanna cari pasal, sure can detain them lah...
these people all playing political games lor..
u know the malaysians also have the same law - I have a friend who's a consultant and he was invited to be a speaker at one of the conferences in KL.
Seems there is a competitor who don't like him and anonymously tipped off the police and he was detained on that day, after he gave his speech. Fortunately the organisers sorted it out and he just paid a fine.
Be careful if you wanna work in these 2 countries - get all the proper papers in order!

more than just these 2 countries.....a lot of other countries also had these rules, but it's just a matter of whether they exercise "rationally"...your fren case in KL, it's more becoz of someone made the report & tip the immigration officers off, they have no choice but to act....if Malaysia really to enforce that rule, tell u, half of the S'poreans entering Malaysia during weekday cannot come back liao .......but at least a civilised country will not detain the offender for 30 days, not allow for bailing or to produce the charge in court...i pity that guy, in detention with all the hardcore criminals for the last 30 days, and have another 30 days to go....my fren worked there told me that the employer (KPMG) since day 1 oredi requested indon officials to charge the staff in court so that they can be bailed out or just pay the fine and get out the country.....but Indon official purposely delay the whole process, somemore under the law they can detain an offender for 60 days without trial or any reason....what has the poor guy done to deserve this...
"In many cases of Indonesians coming to Malaysia without proper work permits, they are jailed. This is reciprocal," he said.
this is a real joke....hundred of thousands of in-ni kias sneak into malaysia to work illegally, this is norm....but malaysian sneak into in-ni to work illegally? errr, seldom heard as we are now the wage level in the 2 countries....i so far only heard 1 case, this DNAT alway silently sneak into in-ni to kio kway nia

Malaysia police is just as corrupted lar. I and my fren kena so many times till we really sick of it. Especially the traffic police who kept tryin to find fault with SG cars. Now, whenever one traffic police stops us, we just push a farkin 50 dollar bill into his face and ask him to F off. When I was cheonging one of the KTV in JB, I saw the police take $$$ from the KTV boss and end up no spot check was conducted on dat day.
