if can, can use photocopy items instead of original?
** i remember some1 say can translate in Sub Courts?
for parents details, her parents open small shop selling stuffs in their house.
how to write the details?
anyway, these details is still needed if apply pr for her in future. right?

If i am not wrong, hu kou ben is "household book". As for the translation part, I dont know where it can be done in Singapore but I remember in this thread, if u read thru all u can get the details.
As for her parents details....I dont know how detail u need to write....but when I apply PR for my wife, I write her parents do business and earn how much only....
Lastly, yes all these details and translated copy u will need them when u apply PR for your wife...so make sure u keep the original translated copies.
Maybe SingViet can advise u better about student pass thingy....
But then why dont u just apply PR for ur wife after u marry her in Jan? This will save u alot of trouble as she dont need a student pass to study if she is a PR (Think i am right in this)

You should be applying for either LTSVP or PR for your wife if you have officially married her. If for any reason she cannot apply for PR or LTSVP, then she also cannot get her student pass. If u are hoping that she gets her student pass first then get PR later, then this is seriously a wrong move.

difficult for me to apply PR for her
as i got no pay income tax for the past few years. only start paying this year.
the salary i earn depend on project management comission so also dont have income slip.
for LTSVP
for what i know, she can only study short course.
am i right?
so intend to apply her for student pass 1st then 2 yrs later PR.
hmm den i dont know already... my friend was just telling me last weekend over a kopi session. i was telling him how hard or expensive it is to apply for wife to study/stay here. he told me not hard, just ROM and everything goes with a click, except applying for PR which looks at the husband's qualifications etc. but applying for school and her to come over was a breeze once he has tat ROM paper.
that's what he told me though..
so after ROM, apply student pass is better?
if the male need not meet those requirement for LTSVP and PR.

since you are married, you should try LTSVP first, student pass can apply later, you can take your time and look for the right school. i'm sure ICA will query you if you apply for student pass and not LTSVP or PR. as for translation, please go to supreme court (if i am not wrong the translation place is on the 4th floor), just check with the information counter. best to provide the orignal document. good luck to you.

birth cert is known as 出生证明, different from 户口本 unless for some reasons you don't have it, you will have to use 户口本 like my wife's case. good to translate all documents that are in chinese to avoid being rejected by ICA. either do it in china at their 公证处 or locally at our supreme court. as for parents' details just fill it in in the application form (check out the PR form to have a clearer picture), don't think it's as important as the other information of the applicant.

Reason: typo error
social visit pass. that should allow her to stay for up to 30 days upon expiry you can then extend her stay for another 2 months on-line as long as you produce your ROM cert. that should give you ample time to apply for LTSVP

For my case, I keep going monthly to extend until they fed up & insist that I apply for LTSVP, then after a few times renew LTSVP they "encourage" me to apply PR
