Any Bros here recommend which bank account to open? I was told at customs that if I open an account there will not need to declare everytime if bring more than 15mil VND

What do you mean do not need to declare everytime you bring more than 15 mil....dun be fooled by customs....what they meant was you do not need to bring in so much cash if you have money in Vietnam bank...

Do you know that they expect you to remit money to your bank account and suffer the horrendous lousy exchange rate...

Do you know that you cannot have a ATM card if you have Vietnam bank account...also cannot bank in cash to your Vietnam bank account...all these except if you have a TRC card if you are employee in Vietnam or spouse...

Welcome to Vietnam and HCM already lost the competitive edge to other cities after leading 5 years...

Not entirely accurate. There is a way to get an atm card with local bank account with full banking facilities.

Definitely I knew there are ways to get atm card if you hold TRC...

I better explain basic what the local banks policies if you are just tourist visa...which I assume most people are...

Tourist visa are allowed to open bank account but no atm card...cannot bank in cash...unless you knew other ways to get which I also keen to learn...if can pm me...

If you are Vietkieu then yes can get full banking facilities with any Vietnam banks...Vietkieu gets 5 year visa with 6 months stay...after 6 months must leave Vietnam and come back renew another 6 months...

Yea I thought if you open a bank account there they should give an atm card? Then no point sia… once bring back slightly over 20mil also kena fined by the customs… f sia now go there everytime declare very troublesome.

What are your solutions if u bring few K SGD over each time?

You are allowed to bring up to USD 5k foreign currencies lah...change in Vietnam...actually bring more than USD5k they dun bother...just cannot bring more than 15mil dong....

Do you know withdraw cash from ATM, Vietnam banks there are small charges each time...

Some local banks still practised lnch time close till 1pm etc...

Oh ok so if I come back left few k in SGD they could not fine me already right… yea the notice board indicated cannot bring more than 15mil VND out.
