The rise of China today as a economic superpower is through hard work in the past 50 years with no illegal trade like what the British Empire did with drug trafficking in other countries.

British Empire Industrial Revolution - R&D development and Expansion (in today's terminology it is technology development).

Let's look at the time frame of their industrial revolution development and expansion and what went wrong with their development & expansion programs that lead them to become a drug traffickers (world biggest frug trafficker in human history) and targeting China and Chinese people for drug money.

A wealthy country of 300 million people was a good target for drug money. Don't lose sight of them. Only wealthy people can afford to pay for leisure drugs and China was a good target for such drug trade.

It was the French that started technology development and expansion. In 1726 the drug trafficker British followed the French. The drug trafficker British copied the French.

As a small nation of 2M people, the drug trafficker race don't have enough money to fund their R&D technology development faster than the French.

From 1726 the British race started their industrial revolution program, so they say. Where to find money to develop their technology R& D? And they found it!

From 1726 to 1799 the bankrupt British Empire saw a need to find cheap source of funds for their industrial revolution R&D and targeted China for cheap drug money. By 1836 (1st opium war with China) the cheap drug money grew 5 folds.

From 1726 to 1836, easy drug money from China drug trade was easy to fund ALL types of technology institutions for their children, grand children and great grand children to develop and research, R&D from industrial to domestic products.

Any country who deals in easy drug money can do the same too, agree?

Money no problem, sons! Just ask how much you need to fund your clever ideas, your fathers and uncles have cheap drug money to give you, just open your mouth to ask. But just don't ask where the money come from or how it was made.

Of course with easy drug money you can do anything you want including leasing a small island Temasek from the stupid Mud to establish a shipping port in SEA. This was to protect the important drug trafficking sea route from England to Calcutta (British opium farm) to China (opium buyers).

So the time frame from 1726 to 1836 economic booming time for the British and in between this time in 1809 Singapore was establish as a shipping port for the drug trade by the British.
