Fast heartbeat after heavy drinking
Wondering if any of you experience this and what to do next.
I have been a drinker for many years. Recently, after drinking sessions , I sleep ok but then wake up in the middle of the night with a racing heartbeat. Its beating so fast its scary. Takes a while before it calms down. Next day there will be a minor pain near the heart area. Seen a doctor in Thailand and was not not to worry too much. Not very convincing. Decided to stop drinking. Last night was bored and had only 2 beers. It happened again. Bad move. Now have a niggling but very minor pain in heart area. Any Doctor here can give me advice. I am stationed in Thailand. Should I be smart to fly back singapore get a professional opinion? I am obese, middle aged, smokes and have high blood pressure but takes medication. I know I should stop smoking and start exercise. What I need to know now is whether my condition is bad. Sorry if this is not Sexual Health..but many whoring and drinking do go hand in hand in many instances so I think some of you will experience similar. Thanks for any inputs in advance.. |

Re: Fast heartbeat after heavy drinking
what did the doctor do for you? ECG?
alot of time, ECG isnt good enough, it is more more accurate to do ECG when the pain is there. My advice is to go get an appointment to do a CT angiogram . |

Re: Fast heartbeat after heavy drinking
If money is not an issue, I suggest you seek a consultation with a heart specialist at Bumrungrad Hospital https://www.bumrungrad.com/
You should ask for both an ECG and an Angiogram as the two tests compliment each other. I know someone who had 50% blockage of a major heart artery but whose ECG showed no issues. Do not visit another whore till you get the all clear. You don't want to end up kicking the bucket in some whorehouse. Exercise is not a good idea either till you have been certified fit and healthy.

I just came back from Bkk- Pattaya Hospital. Did ECG..X ray.. Ultrasound..and Exercise Stress test. What shocked me was even taking my medicine regularly..my blood pressure was 168/113. Super high. Did not realise this. Currently with extra medication blood pressure now normal. Doctor given me 2 weeks and back for review. Heart is ok..but doctor say my heart is bigger than normal..talk about having a big heart ! Also my body has been experiencing body cramps..also a side effect of the high pressure. Got all the tests results with me..next month go back singapore see a heart specialist to verify the results from here. Thanks again.. |

If you can lose all your excess pounds, your blood pressure will drop significantly and you'll have far more energy. You'll also be able to perform better in bed.

Re: Fast heartbeat after heavy drinking
Exercise Stress Test misses out on 20% of people with coronary artery blockages.
The value of an Exercise Stress Test is when the patient's pre-test risk assessment for cardiac events is low. Then you do a stress test expecting a normal result. If pre-test risk assessment is unfavorable, a CT Angiogram with Cardiac Calcium Scoring is a much better option. Bearing in mind that the CTA often over-interprets blockages. If the pre-test risk assessment is very high (eg obvious angina) then the patient should go straight to formal angiography where angioplasty and stenting can be done at the same time. A useful tool to assess your cardiac risk is the Framingham Risk Score. |

My initial ECG .X ray and ultrasound was all good. What was glaring was my high blood pressure which was too high despite my current medication. I would not be surprised if the medicine is fake as I just buy from a pharmacy..its Lisinopril 10 mg..actually I supposed to use Zestril but its much more expensive. Before the stress test I was given 5 mg Norvasc and within 30 mins I was down to 120/79 from a high of 170/113. After the 7 min test ..I was 120/69. And felt better. Last 2 days I started long walks. Today managed 4 km..intend to increase slowly..experiencing some body cramps which made breathing a bit tight but its feel better over time. Doctor prescribed 5 mg Norvasc and 25 mg HZtc for 2 weeks then a review. I oso given muscle relaxant to overcome the cramps..which were the pain in my chest. Now I feel better but its a wake up call. I am alert and seldom yawns..which I do before often. Thanks again. |

Re: Fast heartbeat after heavy drinking
Take it slow starting with your diet with long walks... Try not to smoke too much and have a positive mind everyday.

No matter what you do and how much you check, if your number is up, it's time to go.
