Me not guru but I think you need solutions right?

Two ways you can get to Krabi from Phuket.

1) Hire a self drive and drive yourself there. Its slightly under an hour - about 140 km only but drive carefully of course.

You can hire car from David Rent A Car at +66 76 328398
They charge 1000 bahts for a Honda Jazz or Toyota Vios plus 150 per day for CDW (this is worth it and saves you grief!)

They will pick you up from airport and bring you to their nearby office.
In my opinion, this is your best option because Krabi is very spread out just like phuket and its worth having wheels. Esp if theres more than one of you and you can share costs.

2) Go to Phuket Bus Station in Town and take a bus to Krabi. I do not know the charges and timings but you can check it out yourself. Its an economy option. The bus station is opposite the Phuket Royal City Hotel in town slightly right looking out from the hotel.

Good Luck.

Re: Calling all thailand guru, pls help!!

I think there's a small plane that fly from phuket to krabi. On my previous trip I did try to book but when I reach there the plane spoilt! So in the end results in taking a taxi to krabi.

Seems like a long journey to me as I felt asleep during the ride.

In any case. krabi is a nice place!!

Unfortunately, NO. They are a sizeable but local rental operator. If you want one way rentals, try Avis or Hertz but, expect to pay a lot more for the rental.

Taxis?

I try to avoid taxis in these situations so I have no answer for you there.

Surely, some taxi will take you at the right price for the effort and time to be taken.

I think normal taxis won't do it coz the distance is at least 100Km and hes not likely to get a return passenger. U would probably need to do it thru the tour agencies in phuket

Re: Calling all thailand guru, pls help!!

Your Malaysian driving skills will be just alright.

Remember the rule of the road in Thailand is BIG IS RIGHT and you will survive!

IF David's Car Rent try to charge you more, tell him your Singapore friend recommended you and he is regular - was there just last weekend too!

Have fun and good luck.

C.
