Roy Ngerng
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article is about a person involved in a current event. Information may change rapidly as the event progresses. (June 2014)

Roy Ngerng is a Singaporean blogger. He created the political blog 'The Heart Truths' in July 2012[1]. In May 2014, he rose to prominence when he was served a Letter of Demand by attorneys representing the Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong[2]. Legal proceedings were initiated against him after PM Lee rejected his offer of S$5000 in damages as 'derisory' [3], and are still ongoing.

In the week after a lawsuit was filed against him, Roy Ngerng successfully raised over S$80000 through crowd-sourcing methods for his legal defence fund[4].

Dismissal[edit]
On 10 June 2014, it was announced that Roy Ngerng had been dismissed from his job at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. It was reported that he was dismissed for “conduct incompatible with the values and standards expected of employees” and for misusing resources for personal pursuits[5].
