A fall back industry, back bone industry
An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
Certain industries like constructions, nurses, F&B, civil services, ministry departments and so on are considered fall back industries, back bone of the nation jobs for local citizens. It is for bad times to keep the country going fill their local citizens with job security to go through bad times. FAQ: Below article is interesting to debate here. Some Singapore agencies are in Pinoyland establishing construction training schools for young Pinoys in constructions to work in Singapore construction industry. Is there no Singaporeans willing to work in constructions or no construction schooling establishment are set up here locally to train their boys and girls? In Australia, an interesting democratic country, they have TAFE conducting Cert 3 and Cert 4 in Buildings and Constructions to teach their locals, and other building trades like carpentry, plumbing and so on. Anything similar like this in Sinkieland? There are reasons to do so to train locals in this industry for self reliance. What is the relevant of having local citizens in the construction industry, you wonder? 1. In case of earth quake and Act of God disaster cause serve damages to the main core infra-structural, these local construction groups will take charge re-building the infra-structural. Take recent NZ earthquake for example. Is PAP ready for this problem, or rely on Ah Nehs and Pinoys to come and rebuild for them? The country will be broke by then to re-build the main core infra-structural and you think Ah Nehs and Pinoys will come to build free for you? These are poor stock people need jobs and no money no work and care whether you country falls apart from Act of God. Keep building estates after estates using FW cheap labours for greedy profit gains is it worth it? In times of disaster each estates will fall apart esp high rise buildings will collapse like pack of cards, main structural damages are costly to re-build. Care to share your views? http://www.tremeritus.com/2014/03/18...t-against-fts/ Let’s be clear on this. We are not against Filipinos or any other foreigners. We are against the sheer numbers that are overwhelming us. Will you not voice out if other nationalities are arriving in huge numbers and take away jobs in your country that your own citizens, relatives, children or friends can do? Will you feel awkward if you take public transport and all the talk is in a foreign language? And YES! we are working hard to ensure that our voices are heard by our government same as when your citizens protested against earlier regimes in your country. So don’t take it personally that we are against any race though granted there exists a category of people in any country who are racists. It is the truth that many Filipinos that arrive here on a visit visa, bunk with friends or relatives and look for jobs. I do not begrudge this as long as it does not depress my countrymen’s wages as Singaporeans have to live with the high cost here whereas expats get to send their money home. We welcome your people and yes there still exist niche opportunities and we have shown our support for your country during times of need such as the typhoon that swept your country. Singaporeans are not heartless. We are just running out of space and many are also in need of work same as in your own country. Your understanding is appreciated and hope that you can come visit us soon whatever your educational level. Let us show you that we too have hospitality.
