New research indicates men with smaller testes than others are more involved in the hands-on care of their toddlers. Smaller testicular volumes also correlated with more nurturing brain-related activity in fathers when looking at photos of their own children. 70 biological fathers who had a child between the ages of 1 and 2 were recruited for the study; all of them were living with the child its biological mother during the time of the study. The research aims to determine why some fathers are more invested in parenting than others.
