Duke of Punggol tells merchants that they should game the system now
An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
Transmodified from http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/...en/804326.html PEASANTPORE: Acting Prime Minion aka Duke Teo CH has hinted to wealthy merchants that there are loopholes for Peasantpore's education institutes and programmes to have a more dodgy admission system. Speaking at the topping out ceremony for the Peasantpore University of Low Technology and Copycat (SUTD) on Friday, Duke Teo stressed the need to continue keeping the pathways to success open to those whose parents can afford it. He also urged lowly peasants who have done well to help preserve a greater sense of loyalty to Familee rather than other poor peasants. Peasantpore's fourth university, designed to pander to rich regional Asiatic merchants celebrated the structural completion of its Seventh Wonder style building at its East Coast campus. Duke Teo said SUTD is a good example of the regime's commitment to provide more educational pathways for rich merchants who can now use dodgy means to secure a nice education track for their wastrel children. However, he noted that institutes of higher learning place a heavy weightage on past academic results. More pathways can mean more open admission systems for rich scions, to take into account factors like family wealth or influence. Duke Teo said: "Got a few Lumpars says Old Autocrat got one grandson exempted from state schools, coz his Mandarin 'cannot make it'. Somehow they declare him as a genius and pack him off to local Yankee International School. Of course, rich merchants also not happy, say why their scions not exempted but a blood Princeling accorded such Imperial Favour. Now we give face to them because if Old Autocrat meets Lord Yama, merchants may gang up against Ruler Loong, so such a concession should buy some time......" He said success ultimately depends on one's loyalty to Familee, subtly hinting the Noble House of Teo has secured Imperial Favour through dogged loyalty. Duke Teo reminded peasant students that as they take up the opportunities offered at the university, it is not just about individual success. Those who have succeeded must help Ruler Loong suppress those who have not done as well. He said: "For it is only by working together to make Ruler Loong happy and secure Familee's interests, that we can provide the best and widest opportunities for each our lackeys and minions - better than if you allow Labour pariahs to give more goodies to peasants....decide, you want it or the peasants get the boons?" The SUTD campus sits on 23 hectares of wasteland next to the Haunted Peasantpore Expo. The first phase of construction includes three academic buildings and two residential blocks for rich foreigners. These are expected to be completed by the end of next year. Also on display at the SUTD for the first time are relics from the inept Qing dynasty, donated by stingy playboy and movie star Jackass Chan.
