Arivalakan Narayanan Kanapathy, 55, admitted to mischief by hitting the front windscreen of civil servant Mervyn Lau Jun Ming's car at the open space carpark of Block 117 Bishan Street 12 at about midnight on May 1, 2011. The damage cost $1,853. He claimed that she had cut into his lane first, and so had retaliated by doing the same to her. He then slammed his fist into her car windscreen multiple times so hard it cracked.
