so since now you are not living in Thailand. i hope you have not closed your Thai bank account. in case you would like to visit Thailand again. if not it means you have cash flow problem if you don't have a Thai bank account when chionging Thailand as advised by yourself previously.

Hahaha, this is just so funny. Whether I open or close Thai bank account, it's for me to know, for u to find out if u are really so interested. I dun report 2 u.

Besides hedging, having a Thai bank account is also for logistics reasons. Oh, I forgot, when talking about Thailand, it seems u are only talking / thinking about chionging, that's why.

If the THB is foreseen to remain around this rate & I'm visiting Thailand (if I'm not in Thailand) in the foreseeable future, then it makes sense to keep the money or some money in Thai bank account. Even if withdrawing money away from Thai bank account, oso dunnit to close bank account. Can keep the account open, at most, juz pay some service fee only (if the Thai bank(s) impose these charges). When visiting Thailand, THB can be withdrawn from ATMs locally in Thailand, dunnit to have Thai bank account to do that. Oh ya, the other thing u probably dunno, SGP banks not so powerful yet. Wif a bank account in Thailand, I can remit TT money into the Thai bank account from my bank account in another country, the money is received at the end of the same business day! Can be done via Internet Banking, dunnit to go to bank or remittance companies. The exchange rates & fees are also more competitive than SGP's.

It seems having cash flow problem is a crime in your eyes?

Hi guys, need ur kind advises...

I have a friend in thailand who wants to remit money to me, which is the best way and at reasonable rates?

My friend sent once thru Western Union, they cut alot from transfer and over in Singapor, still cut somemore due to the exchange rate but at cut-throat rates.

Is opening a Thai bank account in Thailand the best way for my friend to transfer money to me? Is their exchange rate conversion from Baht to SGD expensive?

Can I draw money in S'pore? Will the conversion be higher over here?


Or would it just be cheaper if i go over there and collect?

Now Thai baht better rates. Yesterday remit money at GM was 22.72-22.82 for $10 & $12 rates respectively. Jus 5 days ago I remit was 22.5 only. DAMN!
