Sad to hear about the jet ski accident and hope he has a full recovery.

Saying that, incidents like this happen all the time in Patong. Be it jet skiing or parasailing. This isn't Singapore so you can't expect the same kind of infrastructure as you would find at home when an accident occurs. You're pretty much responsible for yourself when you rent a jet ski or do other similarly risky activities.

Technically speaking people with no understanding of operating jet skis shouldn't even be on one in the first place. Yes it seems simple enough and what can happen when there's so much space around. Keep in mind every single jet ski in Patong bay zipping around is just about as clueless as the next one when it comes to operating one and proper navigation. You become a danger to yourself and others in the water. Especially swimmers. Many tourists get run over by jet skis in Patong every year.

Well, things are not perfect but at least now you don't have to worry about the jet ski scams like before where jet ski operators resort to extortion and threats for minor or false damages. They all have to have mandatory insurance now to avoid this damaging behavior to the tourist industry. It's a small step forward.

Again, everyone should just be a little careful and use their common sense when visiting other countries. But most important of all, have fun!!

Totally agreed with Bro HKT.. always remember not to try thing that u are not confidence enough and always play safe as life there is no take 2...

All we can be is pray hard for the young man... heard that he is only 21 Years old not 25 as report... now still in sgh with 2/3 brain dead....1/3 is swellen....

Any recommendation for hotel which are girls friendly?
