Bosnich supposedly came with a knack for penalty saving. But serious handicap: cannot deliver long goalie kicks

Were we giving away that many penalties to warrant signing him? Hehe....

Not to mention - he was also a NAZI....

At least Taibi's mistake was a shot taken by the great Matt Le Tissier and not a back pass like Dudek's.

But I didnt think Bosnich was a flop. Bosnich's career was destroyed by his personal life.

Actually, since we're on the topic of MU goalies - I think Barthez-the-Clown is second only to Taibi on the crap charts.

Knee surgery for Man Utd's Foster

Foster was outstanding last season for Watford . Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster needs surgery on a cruciate knee ligament injury and faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines. The 24-year-old was troubled by the injury to his right knee last season, which he spent on loan at Watford.

The problem was then jointly assessed by United and England's medical staff when he reported for international duty at the end of May.

He is expected to undergo surgery in the next two or three weeks.

United's medical staff have not put a timescale on Foster's return to action.

The news is a huge blow to Foster's hopes of challenging Edwin Van der Sar to become the first-choice keeper at Old Trafford next season because he has been ruled out for the start of the campaign at least.

Evans delivers blow to Sunderland

Evans decision to stay at Old Trafford is a blow to Roy Keane
Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has confirmed he will not be returning to Sunderland on loan next season.
The news is a blow to Black Cats boss Roy Keane who was hoping to re-sign Evans, 19, who played a key role in Sunderland's promotion.

Boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants Evans to fight for a place at Manchester United.

Evans said: "It was made clear I won't be going on loan again, I'll be involved in pre-season and it's more or less been said I will get games."

Keane returned to his former club in January to sign Northern Ireland international Evans on loan to the end of the season.

He made 19 appearances for the Black Cats and was an integral part of their remarkable run to clinch the Championship title and automatic promotion.

Evans added: "I'm a Manchester United fan and it's always been my aim since I signed for the club to get into the first-team."

Re: Manchester United's Headliners, Articles and Rumours

Funny - they're playing two matches on 8 Aug? And one in Scotland and one in Ireland? Perhaps there are two sets of 'United XI'...

Anyway, hope we can see the new signings in the pre-season action.

Reds confirm pre-season matches

The Reds have confirmed eight pre-season fixtures in preparation for the 2007/08 campaign as United look to defend the Premiership title.

United have three games as part of the 2007 Asia Tour, with five further matches back in Britain, which includes the friendly at Old Trafford against Internazionale and the Community Shield clash with Chelsea at Wembley, a rematch of the FA Cup final there in May.

The final two matches see United XI sides take on Glentoran in Belfast and Dunfermaline in Edinburgh.

Full Pre-Season Fixtures
17 July v Urawa Red Diamonds (A)
20 July v FC Seoul (A)
23 July v Shenzhen Xiangxue Eisiti (A)
1 August v Internazionale (H)
3 August v Doncaster (A)
5 August v Chelsea (Wembley)
8 August v Glentoran (Belfast) – United XI
8 August v Dunfermaline (Edinburgh) – United XI

Medical Ok For Nani
Wed 06 Jun, 04:09 PM

Portugal winger Nani has passed a medical at Manchester United and now just needs international clearance before joining the Premiership champions.

United announced last week they had agreed a deal to sign the 20-year-old from Sporting Lisbon.

Following the completion of his medical at Carrington, Nani - who along with Porto midfielder Anderson cost United a total of £30million - was given a tour of Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Another summer signing, England midfielder Owen Hargreaves, will complete his £17million move from Bayern Munich on July 1.

United are in the process of applying for a work permit for Anderson but are not expected to get one initially as the player has not featured for Brazil yet. Instead it is expected they will get one on appeal as the 19-year-old has been named in his country's Copa America squad.
