Surely there will be in the hotels such as Thai Hotel or the Vieng Hotel (name something like that). The big hotels like the Krabi Meritime hotel will also have massage but, you don't need to go pay that kind of prices.

Forget about the beach areas where there are puyings in the beer bar type places catering to the farangs unless that is your scene.

Along the river front, theres very good cooked food at very reasonable prices.

Yes, Krabi is lovely small town. I first visited it by driving down in a small Suzuki jeep from Phuket more than 10 years ago. In those days, lots of farang backpackers all over the town and I actually checked into one such small backpaker's hotel for the unbelievable price of 60 bahts (with attached toilet some more).

Spent the night in a Karaoke place on route 411 quite far out of town and chased the ast mummy cos she was the one who turned me on - slept alone in the end!

Been back a few more times including twice driving up from Sillypore (once on the way to Phuket) and I still love the small town atmosphere.

Cannot say what its like to live there cos you will only know when you spend more time there. All my visits have been 2-3 night affairs of which, besides that 60 bahts night long time ago, I have stayed once on the beach at Phra Nang Inn (was with family *& kids), and once at Krabi Meritime (also with family & kids).

The night places I noticed were all in the town centre areas of Issara Road, and sois 2-10 which link Maharat Road & Utrtrakit Road in the centre.

Perhaps, there will be some well known local nite-life area that the locals can point you to. Just drop into either the Vieng Thong Hotel or Thai hotel and chat with the concierge (bellhops) and you will get all the juicy information within minutes I am sure.

Hope you will file a nice FR & update for us cos I will be back there soon when I can find some time.

Quite a few hotels have it like Sakura GV, Diamond Plaza Hotel, etc..

As far as I know, there are quite a few bros planning to Hdy on that weekend. Most likely, I will be there too. Perhaps if enough interest, we could group together to plan for a party

Sparks - opp Chao Praya 4, Sugar Beat and other bars are also just walking distance away, though it located pretty far off from the rest. Understand that the pricing and system with Kiss Lounge with 20~30 puyings, not sure the quality yet as have not got a chance to check that out.
