For chips, use like putting stroke, try not to unlock your wrist and keep LOWER BODY STILL.....fluffing of chips usually due to 'dropping of shoulders, lower body movements or hesitation. once you decided, just hit thru....

Let the club do the work, use putting grip...hope that helps with your short game.....

as for short irons, since you have steep downswing, place ball position 1 inch right of centre and focus on hitting down and through....
