And his words... The ice wrapping my heart...melted. Totally.
I can't replicate it in all entirety obviously, but here's the general gist...
"No one is flawless... I accept u with all ur flaws, regardless of what u think ur flaws are.. Be ause u deserve happiness too"

A scarce few emails ding dongged around over the remaining days.

In his final one before he departed, stemming from what i told him before perhaps, about how I didn't know how to smile anymore. More than ever, it was tears I found....
"Don't cry anymore. Smile more ok? And smile because u want to"

I didn't meet Ian again after that, nor did I see him off at the airport.
But he did drop a text as he was boarding the plane

The first 2 had brought hurt, but also helped me to grow up.
Did I regret all that happened with them? Perhaps once before, I did
looking back now. I don't really. They taught me much in their own way.
I learnt to be more independent, to pick myself up by myself.

But K and Ethan had also instilled in me a great distrust of relationships, towards the extent of being emotionally detached so as not to be hurt like that again.
Also, my self-confidence had been eroded.
Emotionally, mentally stretched and jaded. This took a toll on my physical self too, as I went thru a period of unexplained weightloss, a worrying 1-2kg per week.

These were some of the thoughts and feelings I had when I met Ian.
He reinstalled in me emotions I had not felt for awhile and more importantly, when with him, he made me smile. From the heart.

For those who commented I'm strong and all that etc etc despite everything, well, I truly wasn't really.
I'm just fortunate to have met Ian who accepted me as I am and taught me to love myself just that bit more. He both made encouraged me to smile again.

I'm still in contact with Ian tho not as frequent as I would like it to be.
But I'm grateful that despite,what happened between us, the age and time differences, we can still remain- friends.

And the promise- to keep smiling.
I'm working on it

And that's my story...not as riveting as others around perhaps but still, thanks for all who have followed it since day 1 and the encouragement, comments, feedbacks given.
