Really thank you for your info... will check it out. I know, beggar kids should be ignored. Years ago I learn my lesson in indo where I gave some lose change to a kid and suddenly out from don't know where I was swamped by many of them.

AC and Manila Street kids don't swamp you - they will eat you alive

They may hit you in the knee and when you bend down, your pockets will be emptied promptly

Don't worry, the cops will be there, watching YOU, so they can catch you for assault if you touch any of the kids

Im a budget traveller also bro and ive stayed in devera before its defo a good hotel to recommend... I was just recommending based on the fact he was a first timer to AC better for him to be in the middle of action first then when he gets his AC radar on then can venture a bit further out . Took me a couple of trips before i dared to venture out to bars at perimeter road and even that i went there like late afternoon only making sure i leave perimeter before 8pm hehehe oh yeah @humlea its better to pay in cash for your rooms cuz you can get discounts on published rates... Walking street is where all the most of the bars and club situated...

firstly perimeter should go early afternoon. once the koreans flock in in the mid afternoon, thats it.

I Dun think devera exe suite is gd..why?
1) is beside the coffeeshop, u need to walk past the coffeeshop in order to reach your room.
2) coffeeshop open only till 8pm. After 8pm, they will off all the light, so will be very dark during at night.. Lol...

Devera is nice enough but go for the bigger rooms. It's new-ish and has clean sheets. Showers are quite good. But that's my 2 year ago experience. Going back again this Oct after a 2 year long hiatus.

Never tried Galaxy before and not sure where it is. However quite a number of brothers have tried it before. Perhaps you can PM them for help

As for location, I find Devera to be good. If you are bringing clients, Devera is like the mid point between Fields and Perimeter road bars. No need to walk too far to get to a bar or an eating place. I think PonyTails is just to the left of Devera and that is where the end-Fields/Perimeter bars start.

Walking. Good and bad. I like to do it as I get to exercise a bit and walk off some of the alcohol effects. I walk to SM as well and sometimes all the way to Lost in Asia with bar stops in between. That's just me. But you must be street smart. The roads may not impress your clients too much. I almost got pickpocketed by a bunch of street kids before but my girl was aggressive enough to chase them off. If needs be take a trike. P100 each direction (Way overpriced). But sometimes safe rather than sorry eh? I take the jeepneys too but wait until you are more experienced before trying that.

Try "Waynes ACMAP" website. I used this as a guide in my first few newbie trips. Stick to Fields as a start and nearby bars like Ponytails and maybe all the way until Eruption/Dr Holms for a start(but I think both Eruption and Dr Holms may have clsoed down and taken on a new name).

Even lot of parts of Manila is not on street View - It is PHILIPPINES, not Singapore

For safety, print a Map of the general area from Google, in Colour, and keep it. some place not safe to flaunt smart phone unless you are the type who scare the living hell out of the street robbers

I frequent "Tiger" hotel whenever I am there..for so-called budget conscious cheongster like me self! Not bad bcos its also walking distance to WS..stayed twice at Kokomos n found it too noisy..cheers!
