Re: NEW ANGELES CITY (Pampanga, Balibago, Subic and anywhere else in PI)
From the local news. Here in Angeles City (as of last night, April 20th, Valhalla apeared open and Gecko's did not).
Tuesday, May 20,2014. Angeles City- Combined elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and Angeles City Police Station 4 recently conducted simultaneous entrapment and rescue operations against suspected human traffickers and their victims in at least two bars in Barangay Balibago, this city. CIDG Provincial Officer Police Chief Inspector Heryl Bruno, in a report, said the joint group swooped down on Wild Geckos Cocktail Lounge and WE 4 you / Valhalla Resto Bar along Walking Street, Fields Avenue. Bruno disclosed that the CIDG has been receiving reports about "alleged human trafficking activities taking place at the two bars" in violation of Republic Act 9208 or the Anti-Human Trafficking in Person Act of 2003 as amended by RA 10364, and against Angeles City Ordinance 43-10, series of 1995. "Human Traffickers must not doubt the resolve of the CIDG to bring to justice and prosecute to the full extent of the law those who prey upon and sexually exploit vulnerable young women for their own greed and enrichment and the victims are often recruited and lured from the provinces by 'mamasans' with false promises of decent work and better lives when the truth is they are selling the victims into the sex trade," said Bruno. He said that during the raid, the CIDG rescued dozens of women allegedly being trafficked and pimped for sexual services to foreign nationals were rescued and are under the care of police, while the Angeles City Prosecutor's Office found probable cause to indict for violation of are. A .9208 WE 4 you / Valhalla Resto Bar owners Rodnie E. Pilapil, Lerma M. Marbell and Matilde S. Cruz, and Gecko Cocktail Bar operators Fe Eleanor Germina and Jacklyn Sagun. "We will hunt them down if necessary so they better wake up to the fact that there will be zero tolerance for human traffickers who will stand accountable for their criminal offending in court. Aside from that, the victims are again being placed in grave danger because of the very real risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases including AIDS and HIV from these foreign nationals," stressed Bruno. once in NAIA after the airport tax counter the security checking for tax payment ..asked me if I have extra peso ... as I was clutching the balance in hand ... I acted blur, and asked loudly 'do I have to pay here again for terminal tax ???' he gave me a sheepish look and said 'happy flight sir' how the hell do you have extra pesos? oh wait, in Philippines foreigners always are rich and have extra pesos the Korean looking guy behind me handed over the balance cash he had to the same security .... when asked for extra peso ... I would rather give the loose change to supermarket staff who help me put stuff, or hotel staff than to security or anyone in airport ... anther incident ... also in NAIA .. when frisking another security felt a bump in my pocket and asked what it was .. I just pulled out a bit and showed it was loose currency ... the fellow said firmly 'show me properly ...' while I was tempted to ask if there is a new explosive made from currency, I smiled took it out, firmly clutching the few hundred peso as far as possible away from his reach asked if I have to surrender the money ... bit loudly as usual ...sheepish smile and 'happy flight sir' never let them bully you ... if they are lowly paid it isn't your fault .... skyoceanblue. worry about airline check in and immigration ...others can't stop you .... is this your first time overseas??? once when i went to another south Asian country the airport security tried to extract money from me .... by claiming I look like a suspect terrorist .... since I always Check in early I made them sweat me for an hour and asked if i am suspect surrender me to police or let me go ... meanwhile telling any curious passenger passing by that the security asked me to wait ... maybe they expect me to pay separate tax here .... now that is scary .... Philippines? not so just check in 3 hours ahead, if you are worried ... you have ample time to see what game they play ....

Re: NEW ANGELES CITY (Pampanga, Balibago, Subic and anywhere else in PI)
are you serious you will have extra peso?
the extra peso is a term to ask money ... again why you like to. give to security? gift for what? don't give unless you are rich ... even if you have extra peso above 10,000 that is still not the business of security ... it is business of customs I have gone AC by two ways ... oh, 3 ways 1) Swagman fly the bus. was 600 peso non stop. www.swaggy.com/fly-the-bus/ 2) Philippine Rabbit to Dau from Avenida terminal, every half hour till 9 pm I think... 250 peso? 3) taxi. you can bargain for 3000 all included ...'if more than one person is going. did twice when i missed the swagman bus after a meet up and too tired to go to Dau. other info :-) http://www.margaritastation.com/angeles.html

I hv never ever given a single cent to these people. Once I ignored a screening officer who asked for money after feels my pockets n there were a few hundred pesos. Returning to collect my bags after the screen conveyor l saw a silver pen beside my bag on the tray which does not belong to me. He asked me what is that? I replied it's not mine n got my bags n ready to move on. He took out the cover n it becomes a knife, I looked calmly at him n he said it's only a joke. Just imagine if out of curiosity I pick up the pen wat will be the consequences? U don't know what dirty tricks are up their sleeves n they dared to do it in the airport. When people are scared n not confident of dealing w these situations ,then maybe giving is an easier way out when under pressure. But don't give like Santa Claus if there aren't any pressure at all.
