Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard admitted the ongoing problems off the pitch are affecting the team after his side scraped a 2-2 draw at home to Aston Villa.
Peter Crouch rescued a Barclays Premier League point with a late goal at Anfield tonight. Crouch hooked in right footed from 10 yards in the the 88th minute to avert a disastrous result for under-fire manager Rafael Benitez. Yossi Benayoun gave the Reds a 19th-minute lead but Marlon Harewood (69) and a Fabio Aurelio own goal (72) threatened to win it for Villa. Gerrard told Setanta Sports 1: “We should win all of our home games, with the squad we’ve got. We’re disappointed with the draw but credit to Villa, they maybe deserved a point. “It’s certainly not good enough. We’ll keep going, it (the title race) is not over until it is over. But it’s certainly not good enough.” Asked about whether the speculation concerning the future of the club’s ownership and Benitez’s position is having an effect, Gerrard said: “It’s not just this week, it’s been going on for some time and it’s certainly not helping the players. “I’ve got to be careful what I say about the situation but it’s certainly not helping the team. “We know what’s going on, but as players you’ve got a job to do on the pitch and you try to put what’s going on off the pitch to the back of your mind. But sometimes it’s impossible, when it is every day.” Going at this rate I am afraid we may not even be playing UEFA cup next season. Sad to say very likely Rafa won't be getting any more chance to see his visions realised if we don't improve our current league postion. |

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Me din watch the match cos rushing some work...but guess the result is really going to impact us if we cant start to produce good result.
We may even have an issue of trying to squeezing into the top 4, let alone being aiming for the title. The off field incident are really hurting us... Saw news in this morning that the Yanks deny having intention to sell the club away...damn sian.....When will we really get out of all this????

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Even if carra said earlier that the outside world(news of Yanks bla bla DIC bla bla, Klmanns bla bla) DOES NOT BOTHER THE PLAYERS ,
i bet every time they walk into the anfield pitch, they are under pressure as not to lose the game and not to see rafa kana chopped... the concentration AND the mentality after the yanks incident really caused some shit among their brains... we r not stupid too... imagine when u are at work, ur general manager whom u love to work with and had work for many many many many years suddenly or almost about to kana chopped by the CEO or the management about to have a new shareholder , what do u tink? CAN u stop thinking or just said -- argghh, as long as my rice bowl nobody touch enuff said.. the once quoted - a scouser for life ; surely u will have ur mentality tested after all this incident rite.. and we all waiting all this negative news to die down then only we get to see the mighty reds at their best... even gerrard unsettled by the speculations... ESPNsoccernet - England - click here for Gerrard unsettling isues good luck..my opinion

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
not sure if the below news can cheer up you guys a little bit....
AMERICANS SUFFER REFINANCING SETBACK Already destabilised by speculation that their two American owners are considering selling the club, Liverpool are set to be plunged into fresh turmoil amid reports that George Gillett and Tom Hicks have suffered a setback in their refinancing plans. The pair are understood to be struggling to secure the loan they require to pay back the original loan with which they bought the club last February. The Daily Telegraph claims that the 'refinancing deal is on the verge of collapse' while The Times claims that 'sources in the City believe that the Americans' regime is crumbling by the day.' The news will not be met with disappointment by the club's supporters who made their antipathy with the American regime loud and clear during Monday night's game with Aston Villa. 'They don't care about Rafa, they don't care about fans, Liverpool Football Club Is in the wrong hands,' was one of the few printable ditties sung by the Kop. Were Hicks and Gillett to be thwarted in their plans then the pair may conclude they have no choice but to sell their club to the Dubai-based DIC group. 'Time is running out for the Americans to conclude the loan agreement. Contrary to reports that they had until the end of February to sign the deal, it is now understood their one-year loan with RBS expires in just under two weeks,' reports The Telegraph. Speculation was rife at the weekend that DIC had formally bid £500m for the Anfield club. However, is now believed that the offer was informal and only in the region of £300m - prompting Hicks to issue a defiant statement announcing he had no intention of selling his stake. just got it off from football365.....

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
I agree Liverpool should be stronger. But I guess the rotation system again failed.Time for changes. I'm afraid if this continues we will be even out of Champions League and might even have to fight for the fourth spot in the primere's league.
