VietNamNet Bridge - An annual student exam competition will be held in 64 cities and provinces in the country on March 11, yet this year’s event has seen a lack of interest from top students.


The contest aims to seek outstanding students for a national academic team, which competes at various scholastic events.

Several high-aptitude students have recently withdrawn from the national team, especially 12th graders.

Being selected for the national academic team is not easy. Only the most outstanding students are allowed to compete for a spot on the national team after proving their ability to beat out thousands of others at the local level.

At the national level, students must select a single subject to study and be tested on. This means they are left with only a little time to study other subjects for their high school graduation and university entrance examinations.

A student from south-central Binh Thuan Province who was deemed outstanding, took a national examination competition in geography, but subsequently failed the high school graduation exam in the 2009 school year.

In addition, after the Ministry of Education and Training overturned a decision in 2007 allowing national academic-level students to enter university without taking the usual exam, there was a sharp drop in the number of students competing for a spot on the team.

Vietnamese tops the world for 3G passion

VietNamNet Bridge – The number of people interested in the third generation mobile technology (3G) soared in late 2009-early 2010, turning Vietnam into the country with the “greatest passion” for 3G.

This conclusion is based on Google Trends data. The data also shows that Vietnam is becoming a potential market for the providers of network service, handheld equipment and added value services based on 3G technologies.

Last year orders for 3G from Vietnam ranked second in the world, just behind China. Now Vietnam has googled 3G the most since 2004, thanks to the high numbers of people who searched for the keyword 3G on Google in late 2009 – early 2010.

The increase of the people googling 3G began in December 2009, when MobiFone launched 3G services and Viettel expanded its tests of 3G services to 17 provinces and cities.

According to Google Trend data, users paid more attention to the 3G services of VinaPhone and Viettel than MobiFone.

Vietnamese users also searched for 3G handheld equipment, especially iPhone 3G.

VinaPhone is the first telecom firm launching 3G mobile services in Vietnam last October.

In December 2009, MobiFone also supplied four 3G services: Video Call, Mobile Internet, Mobile TV and Fast Connect.

Meanwhile, Viettel announced in February 2010 to launch 3G services this March to be the third provider in the country after Vinaphone and MobiFone.

last night got operation at geylang 674/678 and u-pub area. initially i was having a session with my friend at bk when my new girl came in and tell me she going home as got police. thinking she's up to the normal trick again, saying got police wanna go home but actually go elsewhere to work, i was cursing silently but still give her her tips and smile smile let her go.

as it was quite late already (around 1230am then), told my buddy let's adjourn to m51. while in the cab, saw a lot of flashing red/blue light + many many loti chia outside saigon/upub. knn... don't tell me really big operation. boh bian, this situation go mask also sit and sing song only. so we proceed to rochor soya bean to tcss and see show. not long after we settle down, a bloody big "blue caged-tourist bus" appear outside the pub nearest to the tidbits store. but, never see any girls leh. think they must have heard the wind sound and disappear liao. even my friend girl don't bother to turn up for work.

and the worst is not over yet... tried to message my new girl, wanting to know whether she safe or not. this one, really my type... small size, fun although lao jiao, and most important 70% like ah mei (the taiwanese singer). she's not the fair fair type one, but still i like. THE BIG FUCKING PROBLEM IS... TRIED MESSAGING AND CALLING HER, ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THE NUMBER SHE GAVE ME, WRONG ONE!!! DON'T KNOW WHETHER SHE DO IT PURPOSELY OR BY MISTAKE ONE.
