I was Naive (Story)

[Starter]

I found the number familiar but could not recall whose number it was, I called back and it was Pris. She called to apologize that she somehow getting me involved in her matters and told me not to worry about her as she had really given up on Bernard after the incident, She asked if I was going out tomorrow as she would like to hang out. I told her I was going to Orchard and I asked her to join us, I figured it would be a good idea for Pris to help Felicia pick out some clothes. After some convincing from my end she agreed, I told her to meet at Bishan Mrt Station at 12pm the following day.

I spent the evening thinking about what Pris said, the part about if one of the girls were to leave me, to be exact I was think if Christina were to leave me.
I did not know, I was thinking that some of what she said was correct that I have the other girls to fall onto if Christina left me. But when I thinking about my suspicion about Christina and Alan, there was this sharp pain I could not explain.

That night I decided to spy on Christina again, It was a last minute decision and I arrived late. I could feel my heart pumping when I reached the fastfood joint, looking at my watch, It was 5mins passed Christina's off work time. I kept thinking if they have gone off and when I was anxiously thinking of the route they could have taken, Christina and Alan Exited from the entrance of the outlet.

I hid myself and kept my distance, It was evident that Alan was walking her home. all I could see was they were talking the whole journey, there was no holding of hands or any intimate behaviour. I followed them to Christina's block and I saw Alan left after Christina took the lift up.

I went home that day with a heavy heart, and on my way back Christina paged me. I reached home and gave her and excuse that I was bathing therefore I return her call late, we did not speak of much things that night mainly on how we think we did for our exams and I informed her that I was going out with Felicia and the dinner together with Jasmine and Ann's parents.

Saturday came and I woke up late, I could not really just fall asleep after seeing Christina allow Alan to walk her home.

I was feeling down but I did not want to let that affect the mood of the outing that day, I brushed it off and went to meet the girls at the Station.

Felicia arrived and she clanged onto me asking to go, I told her to wait and told her Pris was joining us, I told her about the episode yesterday and she was more disgusted over Bernard's action than I was, Felicia was sprouting vulgarities and telling me how she would have dealt with him if it was her.

Soon Pris arrived and asked if she was interrupting us, Felicia assured her it was fine for her to join us and we proceeded to take a train to Orchard.

We could not find a seat for all 3 of us, therefore we stood near a door that virtually never opens. ( only at Braddell Station) It is amazing how girls can be friends in a instant, before I know it, the two were chattering away.

Pris: So you are one of Yang's GF

Felicia: Yang? you mean this idiot huh. you think he yang (sheep) ah, He is lang (wolf). but hor what you mean one of his GF?

Pris: He told me he got 4. ( I was looking for a place to hide at that moment)

Felicia: No lah he got 3.

Felicia went on to tell her the story on our confrontation with Cindy and how I told Cindy all 3 of them were my GFs.

Pris: Oh so you girls are not really his gf.

Felicia: Actually I also don't know.

Pris laughed: Why the two of you say the same thing.

Felicia and Pris behave like best friend talking about everything, even when Felicia brought out that she hear from me about Bernard, the girls were criticizing him together.

We were reaching Orchard and suddenly the train was braking and came to a total hail. my body could not balance and I was leaning towards Pris, It happened again, my hand was on Pris's breast.

I immediately remove my hand and apologized, She told me it's ok and it wasn't the first time, Clearly she remembered what happen in our primary school days. I kept quiet and we soon alighted at Orchard.

Shopping with the girls was boring, and most of the times I would be hanging out outside the store as the girls were looking at the clothes and trying them on. Occasionally Felicia will ask me to join them and ask for my opinion. When it comes to shopping girls will ask you which is nicer or which suits them better, but they end up buying another item which is not any of the items they ask your opinion about.

That day we visited all the stores in taka and wisma, Felicia did not find anything she wanted.

Felicia: Oei idiot how ah?

Me: Chin cai buy lah,(just buy anything suitable) you think you buying for miss universe meh.

Pris: Actually Felicia looks good in a lot of the clothes that she tried on, quite decent as well.

Felicia: See! ppl say I look decent ok

Me: That I believe, anything also looks more decent than this lor. (Felicia was wear a black tube with black short accompanied with a yellow windbreaker that was zipped up halfway)

Pris : Felicia, why not you think which is the one that you liked the most till now.

Me: yah yah, you slowly think I find place to sit first my leg want to break already.

Before I could sit down Felicia told us actually she like the first set that Pris picked for her. we walk all the way back and she tried it on a second time finally she made the purchase.

As I remembered it was in the evening that she made the purchase and we went to have dinner at the foodcourt. I told the girls to go ahead and order their food as I really needed to sit and rest after all the walking.

I bought my food after the girls returned and we started chatting while having dinner, I did not remember how the topic became Bernard again.

Felicia: Eh Pris, you want me to help you get even with that fellow or not? I think also angry how can bully my sister like that. (In my mind : wah so fast Sister liaoz)

Pris: Just let him be.

Me: Yah lor, what you want to do again?

Felicia: You know I good at asking guys to spend money one mah.

Me: Eh you promise Christina you won't do that anymore ok.

Pris started mumbling and was in her own thoughts

Felicia: Christina also don't care me liaoz, Why you jealous huh?

Pris: Oh I remember Christina!

I knew Pris had remembered that the 4th Gf was Christina, I was quick to stop her from continuing.

Me: Yah the one last time with us but now she busy working. Eh Felicia don't do that, let's not talk about this.

We had our dinner and ended our outing we took a train to Bishan where we parted ways.

I got home and it was near 9pm. that time reminded me that Christina is getting off work soon and the urge to spy on her was strong. but I did not go down as I felt I did not have the courage to confront them even if I seen something different today.

Later that night Christina paged me a I knew she had returned home, I called her and we started the chat with how I spent my day and she was telling how tired she was and the work seem to have piled up as some of the staff did not report for work. She then asked me to remain calm and not to read too much into what she was going to tell me, She told me that Alan had confessed to her that he likes her but she rejected him. I did not believe her, would you reject someone that just walked you home last night?

Maybe she was waiting for the right moment to tell me the truth, and I was sad, after I hung up the phone with her. I laid on the bed, tears flowed as I asked myself why must she lie to me.

The next thing I knew the room was bright, I woke up it was Sunday. Feeling that the end is near between Christina and me, I did not feel as bad after crying last night. I took a deep breath and told myself I still have Felicia, Jasmine and of Course Ann, Pris was right if I turned my focus to them it was not so painful.

I was wondering where we were supposed to meet for dinner as I don't recall Jasmine telling us, hence I decided to page her.

Moments later my house phone rang.

Jasmine: Hello Mr Sea of Red.

Me: what sea of red I tell you I sure pass one.

Jasmine: what is you don't pass?

Me: If I don't pass, I be your servant for one day.

Jasmine: Are you sure? 2 weeks of studying and you expect to pass.

Me: Then if I passed leh?

Jasmine: Ok, If you pass I will be your servant for one day.

Me: Onz! Anyway I page you to ask where we meeting later.

Jasmine: Wait a while I ask my Dad.

Jasmine went off for a while and I can hear some conversation through the phone.

Jasmine came back and told me they will meet us at Thomson Plaza at 5pm and reminded me to inform Felicia.

We hung up and I Left Felicia a voicemail telling her to meet us at Thomson Plaza at 5pm.
